Is anyone following this latest story on Instagram/Twitter?

Kim has reportedly blasted Sarah for reaching out to her after her brother died. Some are supportive of her decision, others are saying a public forum is not the place to do it.

Does anyone know what even happened in the first place???

It takes about a five second search on Twitter to see that that account is fake.

But the account has the blue tick to authenticate it and other posts on the account seem genuine enough.

The answer (at least from Kim Cattrall's point of view) is in your own post! She provided a link to a New York Post article which explains the origin of the feud.

Oh, my bad. I thought it was from a Twitter account, not Instagram. Apologies.

As far as I have read (which isn't much) is that Kim thought the 4 of them (SATC cast) were friends, but then realized they weren't (I don't know what happened). So she took a step back and realized they were collaegues, and that alone. Kim then decided that she didn't want to step back into the Samantha character anymore. As the others aren't her friends, and she didn't feel like doing SATC3, she declined. And apparently, this is when Sarah felt that she should reach out to Kim. And when Kim's brother died, Sarah took to social media to let Kim know that she's sorry for her loss.

I can personally understand both sides. But that's easy when you're an outsider in the story.

I once had lunch with Kim Cattrall and she couldn't have been nicer, even after I insisted she was in To Live and Die in LA when she wasn't. I don't have any strong feelings about Sarah Jessica Parker but I thought she came across really well when she was interviewed by Alec Baldwin for his podcast:

I used to really like SJP when she was much younger, but I never saw all that much of SATC. And I've always liked her impish/bitchy/tormented husband, until she stole him away from me and tricked him into believing I'd caused that crash in Ireland.

At least ... I think that happened... :fp:
Sarah Jessica Parker is awful.
Oh, tell, tell...

Last night I happened to watch the interview Kim Cattrall gave to Piers Morgan in October 2017. He cleverly saved the SJ Parker controversy for (near) the ending, and Kim was quite expressive in both ways. She indeed assured they were never friends but colleagues (not even in the first 2 years, though some people blame Darren Starr leaving for the initial problems), and explained everything concerning the show and its two movie sequels.

When they changed the subject (eventually), I got the impression that it was Kim who was resented for the lack of contact from her SATC pals previously to the rumors about this third (and canceled) movie, as if saying,"well you b*tches only call me when you have a SATC project in works but don´t even call me for wishing me a Merry Christmas". I think it might have been a case of wrong PR because it seemed that people (producers?) had contacted her to ask her ONLY about this third reunion.

I must say that I had never seen or heard the actress being interviewed (aside from some shallow SATC promos) and it was a nice surprise, not only because of her honesty when she talked about her humble origins but also because of her accent and her overall coherent talk.

Maybe she is a truly amazing actress (I haven´t seen much of her out of SATC) but I almost believed her (99%). What I can´t assure is if Kim herself wrote those Instagram messages because it doesn´t sound as the same Kim of the PM show. Not to deny that, at some point, he tried to get "a bit more" re SJ Parker, but he failed. Kim´s smile was priceless though.

In reality it all sums up to that quote: "Now I´m 61 years old, I want to be the one who decides what to do with my life". I though that was an amazing thought.

I wasn't crazy about Sex and the City, the whimsical voice-overs and whatnot, but then it wasn't for me so that's fair enough. But there was a point where it got proper soapy and I really liked it -- SJP was cheating on Nice Guy Aidan with Mr Big and it caused a big rift between her and Cynthia Nixon, and their relationship became properly meaty and dramatic, just like Dawson and Pacey's did when they fell out for about a season because of Katie Holmes. Anyway, SJP really impressed me during that period. There was something quite fearless and raw about her acting. She wasn't afraid to come across as ugly or unsympathetic, which seemed to fly in the face of the whole fluffy nature of SATC. Kim Cattrall's character always seemed a bit two-dimensional, a bit sit-commy, in comparison.

Kim is being heavily criticised for calling Sarah Jessica out during this time. But why should she accept condolences if it is true that she was bullied by her?

Yeah, it's a balance between good taste and other stuff. Who knows if SJP is a cow in private?, but if she's busy publicly virtue signaling and using Cattrall's family tragedy to do so, then Kim's public response seems like fair game.

Just because SJP is letting bygones be bygones -- especially disingenuously, if that's indeed what she's doing -- Kim has no obligation to honor or respect that, or pretend to, if doesn't want to.

That doesn't necessarily mean Kim's being petty if she indeed knows SJP is full of shit.

How did SJP react to Cattrall's brother's death?
I think there's a difference between making a phonecall/sending a condoleance card and posting something online.

And people who are having a hard time tend to react a little bit more emotional, sometimes they want to lash out.
But I don't think social media is the place to do it. I find it so tasteless.

Just because Trump does it doesn't mean we all have to do it. It doesn't look very mature and dignified.
If SJP gestures were done in private, then I agree Cattrall had no need to respond publicly. Otherwise, if Parker is indeed virtue signaling online for purposes of attention, then the gloves are off, if Kim chooses to handle it that way.

Dignimaturity is only valuable when one knows when to dump it and scream "eff you!" at the right time.

Not that I have a clue if Cattrall is correct about Parker.

Very true, but people do all sorts of things in grief that they wouldn't do otherwise. It seems terribly sad (not the 'feud' itself, but the outburst) and none of anybody's business -- but hey, I clicked on the links and I'm commenting now so I'm just being hypocritical!

I don't think I could use something as delicate and personal as the death of a family member in an online argument because it would stain that tragedy.
It's not about what it does to SJP, but what it does to KC herself.
If my nemesis would challenge me online I'd hire some strong Italian guys to ruin all her shoes.
I'm commenting now so I'm just being hypocritical!
Yes that's how it goes. Before you know it you're discussing the discussion. I prefer not to get involved.
