But according to the showrunners, they wanna go with all soap things. And in soapland everyone can return and noone is ever dead for good.
So as well as Kelley could return one day at some point, Mackay could as well.

Though Pedowitz might not have sounded too bothered by NK's 'letting the cat out of the bag' regarding her character's fate, I can imagine the producers were actually livid with her for not following proper protocol. As I mentioned before, actors sign non-disclosure agreements as part of their contracts that force them not to reveal plot points. Even though she was apparently let go and no longer has any real 'attachment' to the show, the NDA-type clause in their contracts can extend long past the time they get fired (just so they can't go out and gossip about the circumstances of their firing, etc.). In theory someone who does what she did could get sued for violating their NDA, but of course the NuDynasty producers likely won't do it because, frankly, the revelations barely caused a ripple on social media. If this had been Mary Crosby confessing in the National Enquirer that Kristin shot JR, that would have been lawsuit fodder for sure, but Cristal's fate hasn't been keeping very many people up at night in comparison.

Their parting of ways must not have been very amicable if she was that willing to burn her bridge, and she must have felt the chances of her being written back in somehow were so remote/unlikely that revealing the plot twist would have no effect on her being re-hired at some point. Kind of like calling your boss a $%^& in front of everyone when you quit, since you won the lottery and thus know you won't ever need to come back.

A little something for the fans who called me out, first when I revealed Cristal is leaving and later on when I said that Steven is also leaving.

Wow. This sounds sort of ... weird. Are they actually replacing him or firing him? I'm confused.

Is Steven really going to come back at some point or is he gone for good? Because if he really is gone for good, then maybe the show should move ahead on having Fallon give birth to the next generation already. I mean, it's bound to happen eventually. And maybe they should also finally dump Sam for good as well. With Cristal/Celia now gone, he barely has any purpose anymore.

When can we expect Nick Toscanni and the sexy babysitter with a dark past (or was it a dark secret)? And who is he going to babysit?

2017 I think (unless it is 2016)

I wouldn't have a problem with either character returning. I mean, once you have the soap trope of "it was all a dream" from the show that established prime time soaps in the 70s/80s, anything indeed goes. Revenge even brought back both dead parents, and that still wasn't the stupidest thing they did. And to be fair, DYNASTY loved bringing back dead offspring, or inventing them out of thin air (Amanda). So while I am in the front line of criticizing the show when it goes off the rails, I am not going to do that when it actually uses the very rule book its original wrote.

I almost forgot! Well I forgot about the mother, funny enough. Strange. And I know it's off topic but what was the stupidest thing then? Or at least a stupider thing!

I'm not on Instagram a lot but I happened to see this within minutes of him posting as well. Thanks for sharing here!

I know they've only let go of two characters - but they are major characters. How much are they going to shuffle things around?

If anything, Michael is dead weight. I know people say Jeff Colby is but it's good what they're doing now with him in small doses. Also, Kirby is really annoying/whiny (which may be the point and with good reason but whatever).

After all, Steven is kind of the "normal" one that helps ground the show a bit maybe? Or is that Michael. Plus they highlighted the bond and love between Fallon and Steven lately, which has actually been enjoyable.

HOW DOES EVERYONE FEEL ABOUT THIS? Do you actually want a new actor playing Steven?

The show was about the all-powerful Graysons and Emily trying to bring them down. Except--wait! The Graysons are mere puppets of the consortium.
I think it is now textbook "jumping the shark" moment of abandoning what your basic premise is about. I mean, Victoria could have been abducted by a UFO and I would have found it more believable.

Can't believe I forgot that too -- normally I have a very good memory with shows.

Thank you!

I figured if JM had been fired and knew it well ahead, he would not have broadcast it the way Nathalie Kelley did. There is always the off-chance that the writers might change their minds, and he likely saw first-hand how the producers felt about 'snitches'. He did an admirable job of keeping it under wraps.

I can't help but feel they're going to do their version of Al Corley-->Jack Coleman. I'm okay with the twist, but I hate seeing anyone get fired.

I'm assuming if they ever are going to introduce Adam to the fold they might want Steven out of the way. I'm actually assuming that Melissa's child might turn out to be Steven's after all since there's a "hot nanny" coming onto the show and they need to somehow justify why Sammy Jo is still on the show.

Tonights opening credits might be interesting. Will they put in Liam or just cut McKay out?

Wasn't that a defining DYNASTY moment? Made even more defining that for Pamela Sue Martin --> Emma Samms all they felt needed change was the portrait on the well. No south china sea explosions and monkey business.

It was bad enough that it happened, but to do it intentionally as some sort of "homage" to the original, that's plain stupid.
Unless they'd manage to turn that stupidity into a mega-gimmick: hire the actor who played Matthew as the new Steven (i.e. combining two resurrections).

Nevertheless, Steven-no-longer-Carrington has become a difficult character to write for. Sammy Jo can be anyone's bitch, he's going to be fine.

I think the point was to make that scene extra dramatic: Steven lost his father and his child. But I agree with you , I think she lied.

This is so very tragic. Many people have been enjoying Steven more this season, especially his acting (in episodes 3 and 4). I don't know why he, out of everyone, was fired. Also he liked an instagram comment asking if Mark Pedowitz (The president of The CW) had anything to do with him leaving. So I'll take this as a yes. Seems like his departure from the show is the channel's decision, not the show's.

I myself have been loving Steven's character and James' acting from day 1. I wouldn't want them to recast Steven at all - no one can play him as well as James.
