When it comes to new Dynasty I think you've just answered your own question. TNT Dallas was copping criticism for plot-lines moving to swiftly. Now new Dynasty is copping criticism for non-existent plots...or plots not resolved.

In both cases we should be looking at those behind the scenes; writers, show-runner, executive/producers. Their incompetence is seeping through the screen. So the big question should be. How do they not see their own failures?

I think they do see their own failures but why should they bother? Thanks to the Netflix deal, Dynasty is making money before its airing... ( I read that somewhere). It reminds me of Aaron Spelling's words about Moldavia aftermath. The show was number one already, so why bother to spend too much money to make it more attractive? People were watching anyway. And this is how we had a daytime soap season premiere ...
Obviously buisness comes first in show buisness...

About the comings and goings behind the screen, I really do hope we'll see one day a "CW Dynasty: The wasting of a guilty pleasure":p which bares it all...

It's like "Fear the walking Dead". Season 5 is a total disaster (as season 4 was mediocre) and the backlash is incredible : fans, critics... Most of them say this is the worst TV they ever watched. And I won't disagree : it's insanely bad and especially dumb. Each time I watched an episode, my intelligence felt insulted. The news show runners literally made it unwatchable. Ratings are falling down, but AMC don't care, as long as its still profitable. They have renewed the show with the same incompetent show runners, for a sixth season. I am glad I stopped watching during season 5. I just read the reddit comments, and it's more than enough. And it's time saving.

About Dynasty, I feel they don't care if the show is good or bad. Unfortunately you can tell.

I can only guess they don't see the need to re-examine because they a) enjoy what they're doing, even if no one else does, and b) the checks don't bounce. If their bosses are not giving them grief*, then the only other motives to strive for the best product possible are selfish: they would not want their names attached to something remembered only for being terrible, and they certainly don't want to be fired for producing a terrible product.

* It's worth mentioning they may very well be getting said grief from the network and we just don't know about it. No one's going to grant an interview to TMZ to announce "Hey, I just got chewed out by Mark Pedowitz and I'm thisclose to being fired because he thinks the show sucks."

sometime 2005 (i guess)
Just checked Rephael de la Fuente's instagram and a few weeks back he posted a picture of him and Kelly Rutherford on set, so seems like "Melissa" will be back in season 3.

2017 I think (unless it is 2016)

Eventually we will all have to accept that nobody involved with the Gillieathon is as invested in Dynasty's legacy as posters on this forum are.

There's nothing left but the actress is married to Grant Show so... I suppose it's better to have Ada back than Blake out.

Oh, i didn't know that. So why couldn't they come up with a decent part for her then? That stupid storyline not only destroyed Ada from the get go, but also damaged the character of Michael beyond repair, who had been actually quite decent up to that point. So lame and wasted.
She should have been Claudias mum or Alexis' sister (Caress!!) or so. That could have been much jucier than that crappy story they came up with for her (and Michael).

I could picture her as Caress Morell. And to be honest, I liked the actress.

Anyway, I don't want to apologize Dynasty's writers, but there is far more incompetent writers in this business (yes, I am talking about you Ian goldberg and Andrew chambliss)

EDIT : there is a rumor saying that Dynasty' season 3 won't be on Netflix weekly. But they want to make season 3 available when the 22 episodes will be completed, on 2020. I don't know if it's real or fake news. And I don't know what it means for the show, if it's true.

EDIT 2 : not a rumor anymore. It has been confirmed my Netflix France.

Yes, I took notice of many of you declaring IMDB to not necessarily be reliable and in the back of my mind, I kind of already knew that. However, it hasn't stopped me from checking it out like a crack addict. :D

So...I noticed in S3E3, they have credited Scott Takeda in the role of Mr. Han. Wasn't his brief appearance in original Dynasty associated with Alexis and Lady Ashley and the Chinese delegation? So, he will show up, yet we have no Alexis lol.

Obviously, NuDynasty is no replica of the original, but these peripheral characters (even main and supporting ones from the original) popping in and then just disappearing with no real impact to continued story telling is annoying (Mark, Nick Toscanni, even Claudia). I know original Dynasty had characters come and go like Sammy Jo, but at least it seemed a little more storyline dictated (and we knew Heather Locklear was doing double duty).

Interesting. Could be an attempt by The CW to garner more eyeballs to their channel. Somehow I don't think that would work...not even in America. I'll have to check Netflix Australia. If however this is true then do we care about spoilers appearing on soapchat anymore?

So that means that i have to illegaly download that crap weekly to be able to chat with you guys about it here during it's run. Thanks, CW! :re:
That will backfire for sure, because it will not bring higher ratings for The CW, but fewer viewers worldwide then on Netflix later. Cancellation would be a less painful death for the show.

Thanks, CW!
I wonder who is pushing this idea? Netflix or The CW? I'm getting conflicting information here in Australia whether we'll see Dynasty on the 12 October or not. Some websites don't have it listed. Netflix Australia itself would normally indicate the return season however nothing at all from them. Other websites state Australia and the U.K. will see new episodes a day after screening on The CW unfortunately for American Netflix customers they won't see it until after the final season ending episode, which means next year.

This scenario could also imply The CW are trying to navigate people to using their own App service :confuse:

If I'm unable to watch my favourite sitcom it won't bug me and it won't prevent me from viewing posts here on soapchat as I don't care about spoilers.

Hmm...I'm pretty sure I'm the only person here who watched S1 and S2 on the CW (the 'original airing'). And thanks to a local decision by my CW affiliate to pre-empt Friday programming to air high-school football games, it looks like I'll be seeing S3 episodes on Saturday nights instead. :(

Ada Stone is back
There have been statements made that Blake will be trying to get Carrington-Atlantic back from the Van Kirks, so I can see how she would pop up. She was involved in the "issues" surrounding the sale of the company. It might only be a one-episode appearance, so don't hurl yourself down the stairs yet.
