Hi there -- this thread is amazing. You've done a wonderful job identifying all these "Dallas" locations.

I am the president of falconcrest.org and have been cross-referencing various shows from that era to identify filming locations from "Falcon Crest". I am currently revisiting "Dallas" and wanted to share some information with you.

Please be advised my time stamps refer to the region 2 DVD release (PAL format) so in case you have NTSC discs, the time might vary slightly due to the 4 % PAL speedup.

In "Dallas" # 3.03 (as per original count) / # 4.03 (as per DVD count), the nightly establishing shot of the theatre (scene with Lucy and Mitch at 34:08) is a stock shot of the Wilshire Ebell Theatre at 4401 West 8th Street, Los Angeles, CA 90005:

In # 3.06 (original count) / # 4.06 (DVD count), the nightly establishing shot of the restaurant at 23:25 where J.R. and Sally Bullock meet is from Cheerio's, the former restaurant that used to be at the corner of Ocean Avenue and Pico Boulevard in Santa Monica, CA. It was closed in 1987, and the building was destroyed by arson in 1988. It portrayed the Tuscany Valley Inn on "Falcon Crest", which basically used the entrance only. The establishing shot on "Dallas" features the circular part of the building, which was usually visible on the left of the frame in the shots on "Falcon". You can read more about the use of this location on "Falcon Crest" in our "Behind the Scenes" section: http://www.falconcrest.org/english/master.php?path=show/episodes/ai/bts/2/036:

I'll be happy to keep my eyes open if I discover more locations while rewatching the classic "Dallas" and will let you know.

Amazing thanks, I'm crazy about filming locations in California , I have a facebook page @vintagecaliforniaTV . I'm about to rewatch the first seasons of Falcon Crest (the ones avalaibale on dvds) so I hope to find new great locations !!!

I was tracking down information about Cherrio’s (thanks for the info, @TJP!) and while conducting an image search, the results caught my eye.

I am pretty sure this building is one that came up on Dallas several times in the early seasons. Now, I can’t find any screenshots of it. I guess I should have kept a file of unidentified locations and their episodes.

Does this picture jog anyone else’s memory? Look familiar?

This is the exterior shot [above] from episode "Old Aquaintance" [Season -2/Episode-3].Jock and JR are having drinks with a guest here.[Those interior scenes were not at this location.]...It was a punk rock club up in Santa Monica CA. until the late 1980's.[Madame Wong's West]….You found it John!

could not have done it without the earlier post from @TJP! And even then I couldn’t have been able to tell where it was located in Dallas! Good job, @Bill B. for having your records in better order than mine!

Good teamwork, everyone! And where is Bill D? He would be interested to see how this all came together!

Garnet’s place was located at 6050 Canterbury Drive in Culver City. It is a condominium complex called The Pines.

I was wondering if anyone already identified the night shots when Jock was in the hospital in season 2 (DVD season 3). Here are a two screen captures from episode # 3.20 (DVD count) and another one from 4.01 (DVD count). The same establishing shot as in the first screen grab here was reused in # 1.14 of "Falcon Crest". I am not sure if the establishing clips originated on "Dallas", but after cross-referencing many shows from the 1960's through 1990's, "Dallas" is the only other one where I discovered those shots.

Any idea where this hospital was located?

@cheaproberts — great to see your Facebook page!

I hope you'll discover some interesting new "Falcon Crest" locations when you rewatch seasons 1 through 3. I think only the particularly tough ones are left to be identified though, including establishing shots borrowed from other productions, which are especially difficult.

In # 4.05 (as per original count) / 5.05 (as per DVD count), the establishing shot of Dr. Waring's Medical Professional Bldg. is the Main Administration Building of Warner Bros. Studios at what used to be referred to Gate 3 (nowadays called the Executive Gate) at 4000 Warner Boulevard in Burbank, CA 91522. The main entrance was remodeled in the 1990's, but the building looks basically the same otherwise.

I am not entirely sure, but I think the lake where they search for Jock's body in # 5.13 (DVD count) / 4.13 (original count) is Century Lake in Malibu Creek State Park. Further research might be necessary to confirm my theory though.

In # 5.24 (DVD count) / 4.24 (original count), the exteriors of the police department both in daylight and at night is stock footage of the Long Beach Police Department at 400 West Broadway, Long Beach, CA 90802. The building looks different nowadays due to remodeling with a new glass curtain façade.

Yes! Katherine also goes there in 7.11.
Speaking of Donna, I never found the hardware store she visited while she was doing her research...

keep up the good work, @TJP!

In # 6.14 (DVD count) / 5.14 (original count), the restaurant scenes with Mark Graison -- the exterior shots on the patio where Ellie and Pam first meet him and the interiors in the later scene with Pam and him -- are from what used to be the Black Forest Inn in those days. The structure still exists albeit remodeled and now operated under a different name after several changes of ownership. It is located at 2454 Wilshire Boulevard, Santa Monica, CA 90403.

Locations from # 6.21 (DVD count) / 5.21 (original count):

I think the establishing shot of Holly Harwood's office is the James K. Hahn City Hall East, 200 North Main Street, Los Angeles, CA 90012:
Dallas-DE6.21-09.17.JPG

The house Clayton and Ellie look at with the real estate agent is a privat residence located at 4365 Forman Avenue, Toluca Lake, CA 91602. The home still exists, but was extensively remodeled around 2018:
Dallas-DE6.21-23.11.JPG

The motel -- also featured in # 6.22 (DVD count) / 5.22 (original count) -- is what used to be the Tolucan Motel back in the day. The address is 3910 West Riverside Drive, Burbank, CA 91505. The old structure was rebuilt in 1990; it is now the Best Western Media Center:

In # 6.22 (DVD count) / 5.22 (original count), the nightly establishing shot of the motel where Lucy and Mickey go to is from the actual Steele's Motel, which was demolished in 1988 and replaced by a new building. Steele's Motel used to be located at the corner of Ventura Boulevard and Colbath Avenue in Sherman Oaks, CA; the address was 13949 Ventura Boulevard:
