How could I forget to include Battle Of The Planets?!

It means losing Sixties Spidey, but I couldn't not include it. I've gone with the horribly kiddified American version out of nostalgia. And for that great theme.

I used to have a crush on Mark, but these days I think Jason is a tad hotter.

Are Wacky Races eligible? Wasn't it a 15 minute-episode show?

I don't really watch a lot of animated series anymore. So this list is based on which shows I remember liking as a child.

1. My Little Pony (1986-1987)
2. Disney's Adventures of the Gummi Bears (1985-1991)
3. Care bears (1985-1988)
4. Dennis the Menace (1986-1988)
5. The Jetsons (1962-1987)
6. Lucky Luke (1983)
7. The Flintstones (1960-1966)
8. Duck tales (1987-1990)
9. Yogi's Treasure Hunt (1985-1988)
10. The Smurfs (1981-1989)

I also liked Doctor Snuggles and Barbapapa but I think those shows are Dutch and French.
Then there was "Blodplättarna" but that was French.

1. Daria
2. The Charlie Brown and Snoopy Show
3. Gargoyles
4. Animaniacs
5. Batman: The Animated Series
6. King Leonardo and His Short Subjects
7. Top Cat
8. The Flintstones
9. The Jetsons
10. The Huckleberry Hound Show

Notes: I left out The Bugs Bunny Show because it was comprised mainly of previously released theatrical shorts and Pinky and the Brain because it is also part of Animaniacs. The Charlie Brown and Snoopy Show is included as an avatar for the primetime Peanuts specials which would otherwise not be eligible. I'm sure there are others I would remember given more time.

1. My Little Pony (1986-1987)

According to Wikipedia, MLP episodes had a running time of 10 minutes. Therefore, I will disqualify it and you can have it as your #1 next round when we'll do Animated series under 15 minutes/episode.

Next theme:

Reboots, Revivals & Sequels - part 1

For a series to count, it must fulfil 3 criteria:
  • A series that was cancelled and done with, but because of it's former glory days and nostalgia, it was brought back
  • Same cast members in the leading roles as in the original series, but the new series can had added some newbies that was not in the original
  • Reboot/revival/sequel is either a limited series or several seasons series: no movies like Sex and the City 1 & 2 or War of the Ewings.

--> This means that a series like TNT's Dallas counts because it was with the same cast members as original Dallas. But CW's Dynasty does not count because while it's the same characters, no original cast member is on it. Series with a whole new cast is next theme (part 2 of Reboots, revivals & sequels).

--> Series like the new Melrose Place and 90210 don't count this time because the former cast were not in the leading roles, only guests/supporting. These series can be saved for part 2.

Remember that you vote for the reboot/revival/sequel - NOT the original series.

A list of rebooted series here
A list of American sequel series here
A list of revived series here

Rank your 10 favorites between 1-10 where 1 is your absolute favorite.
I will tally up the scores when the deadline has passed.

Last day of adding your Top 10 is: Friday, October 2nd

Two questions apropos this round:

  1. Does the new series have to have the same title as the original?
  2. Do the same actors in the leading roles need to be playing the same characters as in the original?

1. No, it can have a slightly different title. As long as it's "the same" series.
2. Yes, absolutely.
