Why hoover it up? It's a living creature. We need to be a bit more tolerant of these creatures. Says me the extreme arachnophobe. I can't wait for the day someone starts to hoover up the human race.:box: Full of our own self importance we are!
I now have a spider catcher tool to remove them (without harm) to the safety of the neighbours’ properties. I found the grille thingy where they drop inside the house from outside, by accidentally looking at the ceiling, just as one was dropping in. A big one. Interesting how it squeezed itself through the mesh.

They spin webs on my bin pen and outdoor bin handles every week. Dastards.

They even get into my house every so often-- how they do is a mystery to me.

The spider catcher comes with a practice plastic spider. I keep seeing the practice spider and momentarily think it is a real one. And jump.

Yes. Shut the windows and doors and they still turn up. Hope they are not hatching...

If they're hatching, you'll have an infestation like you wouldn't believe!

Thanks guys. Avoiding words like 'hatching' and 'eggs' and 'eat' would be really helpful going forward.

Why would that be helpful?

I know it's terribly cliched to be afraid of spiders but there is a story behind it.

When I was 6, I was unwell with a cough or something and was prescribed medicine. My Mum realised something was terribly wrong when I started to scream, and brush at her as if wiping spiders off her body. It turns out, the medicine caused me to have hallucinations - apparently it also happened to another girl in my class at school.

My Mum swears this is where my fear came from, and the timing of it seems right as from about then onwards I have been absolutely petrified. It's not even like I will scream or shout or anything, it's just like a horrible feeling of fear. Like if they are on the staircase, I have to block my bedroom door with a towel incase they come in. Like I believe they have this agenda, and they are thinking 'oh she's up there...that's where we will go...'

Must have been some potent stuff if it made you be afraid of spiders that badly!
