Don't think it's true but I do love One Tree Hill.

It really was a true successor to the prime time 80s soaps (a mix between Dallas and Knots Landing) in the 00s, yet somehow created its own niche, The OC came out around the same time, yet I could never connect to its characters the way I connected with OTH's characters.

Who was your favourite OTH couple? Mine was Brucas (yes I know that ship sank but they did have a beautiful connection)

My favorite character was Nate, but I wasn't a huge Hayley fan--so favorite couple would probably be Brooke and Julian. It's my favorite show and so I could find things to appreciate about pretty much any pairing.

I wasn't a big fan of Hayley either...I did like her the best in the last season. My favorite characters were Brooke and Nathan.

I would say I liked Julian and Brooke as my favorite couple on the show.

How many times have you watched this show? It's getting time for me to do a re-watch!

I've gone all the way through three times now.

I have only seen it once and I loved it so I will get back to watching it again....I am on my third watch of Knots Landing...but that is going very slowly with other shows that are starting up again this season.

I'm always tempted to start a re-watch. It's just such a daunting undertaking with so many seasons. But, I'm sure I will watch it again someday.

If I remember correctly when we chatted about this..wasn't it season 5 that was the only boring season or am I wrong about the season?

I started a Knots re-watch quite a few months ago. It's very slow going and I haven't watched an episode in quite a while.

Season 5 is the first post high school season and the season with the time jump and it's a bit slow as the show tries to find it's new footing. I also struggle with seasons 7 and 8 a bit.

It's been slow going for me too although I just love watching it again. I think at the rate I am going it may take me 14 years to get thru it.

This is part of the reason I want to do a re-watch....I need to remember too many things that I have forgotten.

Haha, me too. But there's something comforting about knowing I'll always have Knots to jump back into when I want to.

I found that my opinions changed a bit on some of the characters from first watch to second watch. It would be interesting to see if that happens for you.

Yes it is very comforting...I feel like I am starting my winter nesting lol

I wasn't a fan of Peyton so I am looking forward to seeing how I like her on the second watching. It's the same with Knots..everytime I watch my opinions change on the characters...except Paige of course..she will always be my favorite :D

Peyton was one of the characters where my opinion changed the second time through. She was one of my favorites the first time through but the second and third times through I didn't like her quite as much. I found her more annoying and more irrational.

Oh Great..if I didn't like her the first time I bet I get this feeling about her too in my second watch.

I loved Keith and was so upset when he was killed.

I've seen various episodes through various seasons up to season six, but I am now properly going through everything in order. Halfway through Season 2.

My favorite characters were Brooke and Nathan.
I would say those are my two favorites as well.
My favourite characters are Brooke, Julian, Nathan and Keith.

Nathan and Brooke would alternate in second and third place for my favourites.

Dan is my favourite. He's a contender for the most fascinating TV character of all time.

Who was your favourite OTH couple?

I can remember at one point going quite fanboy over Mouth and Millie. It passed.

Brooke and Julian.
Julian and Brooke
Brooke and Julian.
Brooke & Julian

Wow. A lot of love for Brooke and Julian as a couple. I have a minority viewpoint on this one, it seems. ;)

I found that my opinions changed a bit on some of the characters from first watch to second watch.

That's something I'm looking forward to. Uncovering new layers as I rewatch.

I am now properly going through everything in order. Halfway through Season 2.

Lucky you!!Enjoy, and as others said, I hope you'll share your thoughts here.

I was never a fan of Lucas.

I very quickly came to the same conclusion Jessie. Actually, I didn't mind Lucas so much on paper. My issue was with Chad Michael Murray.

I'm jealous that I'm not watching it for the first time.

And I'm very sad that our first time viewing thread has gone. Sharing the experience of watching OTH for the first time is one of the most profound TV watching experiences I've ever had.

All this talk of OTH is making me want to re-watch the whole series again, I wonder if it's on Netflix?
I do like Brooke and Julian, they did make for interesting viewing in the later years,
I love Brooke, she is my favourite character, her character gets stronger and stronger as the years go on.

I loved her fostering children storyline, I wish she was able keep Sam and Angie permanently, she was in many ways the 00s answer to and hybrid of Brenda Walsh and Kelly Taylor of 90210 fame, she had the sweetness of early seasons Kelly and the strength of Brenda and the sexiness of both girls.

Peyton on the other hand has always annoyed me, the eternal victim that needs to be saved all the time, I could never understand why Lucas was in love with her, his relationship with Brooke made perfect sense, opposites attract almost, Lucas never had to save Brooke, if anything Brooke saved Lucas and brought Lucas into her world whilst she entered his world, I guess that's why like Julian because he's similar to Lucas in many ways.

I love Dan Scott, he's such a multi layered character, the perfect human villian, who wants to be redeemed and forgiven by his family.

Yep I shall definitely be re-watching OTH this afternoon!
