Here's another doozy I hadn't seen before, though I have seen it written up in the press - John Forsythe discusses DYNASTY's fall from grace as part of PR efforts to revive the show's falling ratings. I assume this was late 1986 or early 1987. He disses the 'kings and queens' of the preceding seasons and says improved writing could help the show run for another 5 years. Alas.

A couple of videos I posted on the old board - Lee Bergere discusses his Dynasty exit in the summer of 1983:

...and an interview with a young Heather Locklear (from the same YT channel with lots of 80s soaps stars):

I always loved how towards the end, we get a mangled "Here Comes the Bride". Classic. :D

Yes, that was a nice touch. And then I believe "Getting Married in the Morning" at the beginning of the hospital scene. You sure wouldn't get that in season 8.

Alexis in all her coolness:
(First time I saw the video, I bee like wat da faq! Alexis taking a bath and not talking on the phone!)

I was looking for another music video feat. Joan Collins. She sits in front of a mirror and removes all her make-up.
I don't remember if it was another song or an alternative video for the same song...

When I watched "Spitting In The Wind" it suddenly dawned on me that she never smiled a happy smile on Dynasty, except maybe for that scene on the beach with Jeff.

Oh there's got to be more examples than that. Maybe in scenes with Dex, or even Steven or LB and Danny?

Well...yes, but...no...that's not exactly what I meant with happy smile. Sorry I don't know how to explain it.

Yeah! I mean a well-acted smile that doesn't look like a well-acted smile!
Thanks, Alexis:)
For whatever reason she just wasn't very good at doing nice sincerely after a certain point. That point would have been before DYNASTY. Maybe it was that she was jaded by Hollywood and not being taken seriously as an actress and having to do things she didn't really want to do in order to keep going.

Oh, fυck yes. I will hoard all these videos and choose a cozy evening to watch them all.

That Season 3 Alexis/Krystle scene is one of the reasons I can never completely write that season off, despite obvious, increasing problems.

I loved that Season 6 report on DYNASTY for a few reasons:

1) Evans' obvious insecurity. She is so lively and sweet and charismatic when being herself. Why couldn't that be onscreen?

2) So many basically saying, people think the show is a joke and we KNOW IT but please watch, OK?

3) The opportunity to watch Season 4 and 5 clips in what seems to me like they may have looked like at the time they aired. Is that accurate? There was something about it that made me feel so nostalgic, even though I wasn't born lol

Shortly after filming The Reunion, Al Corley took a cameraman and visited his co-stars at their homes to talk candidly about the good old days and DYNASTY. The result was a 2-part documentary (3 hours) with some surprising revelations (for instance, I may never look at a Fallon & Steven kiss in the same innocent way again).

Unfortunately for some of us, the German station that aired the special dubbed all voices into German (using the original voiceover actors). Nevertheless, it's a fascinating look into the private lives of the Dynasty stars a decade after all that madness began. Previously chopped into 6 parts, someone finally posted the special in its original form, as two 90-minute episodes. Enjoy while it's up:

That looks exactly like the DVD i've taken a lot of years ago from my old videotape of this. I've sent it to some people over the years, so one of them has uploaded it. :D

Wow, thank you for findang that clip, that is great! And a very "unusual mixture" of them to appear. :fantastic:
And yes, Pamela looks very good, so nice to see her again.
Sadly it's chopped at the end, is there a full version of it somewhere?
I wonder what they were asked next, maybe if they heard of the new Dynasty on The CW? :D

Just found these wonderful interviews of John and Linda inside the mansion set, after a long season 7 shooting day, enjoy:

Always a good idea to check the YouTube channel the videos came from for other goodies. :)

There's another video with Linda Evans from earlier, she looks incredible and very natural in it, the way we remember Krystle from the beginning of the series:

There's another one with John where he mentions the bad storylines in the preceding year and claims Dynasty has turned around, especially in the past few shows (I wonder which episodes he has in mind exactly). He also talks about how much he loves Linda:

Michael Nader talks about his fight scene with Joan Collins and working with her:

And now on to THE COLBYS:

The interview with Emma Samms is filmed on the set of The Colbys - the Hilton mansion, we actually see a scene being filmed. She says Pamela Sue's Fallon was originally mean, but getting nicer, and she's happy they're continuing that trend on The Colbys.

While discussing Miles' daddy issues, Maxwell Caulfield, who seems to be freezing, reveals his own father 'buggered off' when he was young and had no one to look up to. Also calls Miles a maniac.

Here's also an interview with John James while he was on The Colbys. Not much about the show, but he makes fun of his character's original name Corby.

Great!

She says it's harder to maintain her American accent while playing opposite Stephanie Beacham, who plays an English character. I had never realized how much actors could influence eachother.
At the same time, in her role as Fallon, she has to manoeuvre around Sable's traps & schemes:lol:
Also calls Miles a maniac
He was, and Maxwell Cauldfield had the right "energy" to play that role. Heck, even when I watched that interview I thought, what's going to happen next.
interview with John James
He's so likeable, and all that great hair! (although I prefer it without the highlights).

(I'll watch the Dynasty videos later)

Linda interviewed in Spain in 1987 -- something that I noticed during the later years of the show was how Linda and Joan, even in extreme close-up, looked far better in harshly-lit TV videotaped interviews than she did on DYNASTY during that period. In fact, due to bad lighting, bad filters, and weird post-production techniques, Linda never looked worse than when she was on S6 thru S9 of DYNASTY. (Some of that's been cleared up with remastering of the later seasons, which look far better than the ruddy, fuzzy way the original broadcast prints did).
