Original Alexis' hatred for Blake and Krystle was stronger than her love for her children, at least that's how I saw it.

Nah, have to disagree here, sorry Willie.
As i got it, her love for her children and her (stupid self-destructive) neverending love for Blake (even if she pretended otherwise) were always her strongest feelings.
Maybe it was a tie between hating Krystle and loving Dex, but deep inside her feelings for Blake and the children were always her strongest.
At least that's what i got from Collins' portrayal of Alexis throughout the seasons.

It's just like a general dumbing down of everyone. An over simplification, as if people couldn't deal with any sort of complexity.

The moment I see that I switch off, never to return.

Here's my list of who could play Alexis: It will most likely be someone, that, when you hear the name, even if you didn't watch the show or watch much, you know they were on it and it was a nighttime drama...


Melrose Place:

Heather Locklear, Lisa Rinna, Laura Leighton, Marcia Cross



BH 90210:

Tori Spelling, Shannen Doherty, Jeanie Garth



Falcon Crest:

Morgan Fairchild



Desperate Housewives:

Marcia Cross






I want to bet it's gonna be someone from a BIG nighttime drama. Either MP/BH or one of the 1980s ones, but I'm betting it's gonna be someone from MP/90210 mostly.




Marcia would be terrific! She played Bree on DH and it was so different than her psycho Kimberly on MP! I could see her doing a mix of that if she were to be Alexis!

Eva Longoria...Teri Hatcher? I couldn't see Nicholette Sheridan or Felicity Huffman in the role. From DH I would say I'd put more money on Marcia or Eva.

I enjoyed this episode. I really think the actor who plays Fallon has it spot on. Perfect casting!

Funny how PC it is and they had to keep mentioning it was old fur whereas the original Krystle had no issue wearing a Polar bear or scalping 300 minks for a hat.

I really think Joan Collins should play Alexis , that would be insane she had her kids in her 60's via a surrogate.

This show could get away with that right? Or not!

Creating something outrageous is not as easy as it may seem. I think they're trying - and I really liked the first episode - but it's all a bit lifeless and lacklustre.
I think it needs a little nip/tuck (now that show was outrageous).
Shock me, entertain me, but no more of these schoolyard shenanigans.

Nip/Tuck was a guilty pleasure to watch. Much like Jerry Seinfeld wouldn't admit to watching Melrose Place. Could it be Dynasty 2.0 has missed the mark in that regard?

So again, I have to remind you I haven't watched Dynasty 2.0. Has it been confirmed the name Alexis IS actually the ex-wife of Blake and mother of Fallon and Steven in this reboot? I'm just asking because wouldn't it be a hoot if the writers had cleverly hinted at the character but not actually called her out as Alexis. What if Alexis Carrington did actually return in the form of Joan Collins but it turns out she is actually Blake's mother!

I picture a court scene. As Fallon begins to sink into her chair she exclaims, "That's my grandmother!"

Yes, it's been confirmed in so many ways that Alexis is the ex-wife.

Not only from Fallon having obvious issues about her mother, but also the fact that Blake even trademarked "Carrington" because of Alexis attempting to do a make-up line or whatever.

Yes, I also wrote about this on here. If she had her kids in her 60s when Blake was in his late 30s or so. That's the only way Joan Collins can play Alexis on this new series.
