Last night I had a "Susan Sarandon watch night". I saw two of her least known titles from the 80s, "Loving Couples" (starring Shirley MacLaine) and "Compromising Couples" (co-starring Raul Julia). I won´t add them to my list. The lesser said about them, the better. Not turkeys but are dull comedies with "social" ambitions.

Loving Couples (1980) i think i saw that one? isn't that the one with Stephen Collins? that's a decent movie but not a great one i've seen far worse. there's a lot of her films i have not seen and i dunno off the top of my head what my favorite flix of hers is.

I loved her as Bette Davis in Feud but that doesnt count, so its a short list for me

Much the same for me. Even though I've liked some of her films, I've never been much of a fan of her; FEUD was the first time I really liked her work.
  1. The Witches of Eastwick
  2. Thelma & Louise
  3. Enchanted
  4. The Client
  5. Bull Durham
  6. Elizabethtown

i didn't know there were fans of "The Lovely Bones (2009) i thought it while the scenes with the girl in the afterlife were really well done the film was terrible.
i've seen Rocky Horror numerous times i've even met Meatloaf and Kimmy Wong and Perry Beddon as well but it's not among my favorites my brother loves the film.

The Witches of eastwick are among my favorites though, Elizabethtown (2005) i saw on the big screen and the best part of it i think was on the road near the end that was a meh film it wasn't terrible by any means but i didn't care for it either. the woman i went to see it with felt the same way i do too

i've never seen that one but i do wonder what she would consider her worst film? it's always interesting whenever you have an actor or an actress give their thoughts on their worst film. with John Carradine it was Billy the kid Vs. Dracula (1966) which is a fun bad film & so not his worst film by the way. with Bette Davis it was Satan Met a Lady (1936) again that one is so not her worst film either. i dunno what i'd consider their worst films as i have not seen them all but it's not the ones they listed

Yesterday I watched (surprise!) two more films of my dear Susan Sarandon. Both an improvement over the previous I mentioned here. In both she plays a (relatively) supporting role and she plays it to a hilt:

- "The January Man" is a Kevin Kline showcase, a mystery comedy about a police investigator who is brought back to find a serial killer. Susan is gorgeous in a Linda Gray kind of way (sure Sarah knows what I mean!), especially in her first scene at a fundraiser. Also in this one are Rod Steiger, Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio, Harvey Keitel, Danny Aiello and Alan Rickman. So you can see the cast is more than good. Not thought-provoking, but I found it a terribly charming movie. The trailer doesn´t make it justice though...

- "Romance & Cigarettes". How to start with this one? In one sentence, it´s a weird musical about a low-class family of NY. A makeup-less Susan plays the cheated wife of a James Gandolfini who is having an affair with an uber-bitchy Kate Winslet (with an accent...!). It´s directed by John Turturro, clearly inspired the style of Woody Allen for "Everyone Says I Love You". The songs are already well-known, the sense of humor is hilarious, and the characters relatable. And everyone dances here!!!! Kate´s first appearance dancing and singing inside a house on fire (sic) must be seen to be believed!

Both are recommendable though the latter is not for everybody for the musical touches.

The January Man (1989) i remember when this one came out i always forget she was even in it to be honest but i remember it being a huge hit back than but i've never actually seen it. i dunno what i'd consider her worst or best film cause i'd have to look her her films again and she's got quite a lot of them now and off the top of my head i do no remember what the last one i saw of hers that she even did! i do have Dune: Children of Dune (2003) on dvd but i haven't watched it yet though
