Would You Take Back The Later Years?

I love love love that image of Bobby and April getting married in a broom closet that’s been badly painted to look like a landscape.

Has Deborah Rennard been in "Star Trek - The Motion Picture"?

Random comment, but I enjoy The Motion Picture a lot more than most people seem to. It’s the type of 70s boring that I love and can always get immersed in. Another great example of perfect 70s boring is The Amityville Horror.

    It's the Story of "Us"

I would pretty much agree with David Jacobs. When people say Knots is realistic, you have to take that with a little grain of salt. It’s not realistic in the sense that most cul-de-sacs don’t have nearly this much drama, but it’s more realistic than any of the other soaps and it’s the only one...

Did Knots change with the times?

Absolutely and that’s completely why it lasted 14 years. I would say the first three seasons, while being early 80s, still have a distinctive 70s feeling to them that goes away around season 4 when I feel like we really enter the 80s; this is not unusual when crossing from one decade to the...

Trump takes Miss Ellie’s name in vain

Log Lady: You wear shiny objects on your chest. Major Briggs: Yes I do Log Lady: Are you proud? Major Briggs: Achievement is its own reward; Pride obscures it.

Trump takes Miss Ellie’s name in vain

I don’t like Trump either and I certainly didn’t vote for him but maybe we could leave Trump out of our discussions of beautiful and glorious and wonderful nighttime soaps ?

    Watching Capricorn Crude

Let’s not forget Valene’s popular sequels, “Capricorn Crude 2: Capricorn Cruder” and “Capricorn Crude With A Vengeance.”

Trump takes Miss Ellie’s name in vain

LOL! I have to admit that when this hit the news, my first thought was not “The Donna Reed Show,” my mind went straight to “Fake Miss Ellie” or “Miss Robot” as my brother and I like to call her.

Bourbon and Branch how much do they drink?

Smoking is wonderful and I did give it up years ago and I often wonder why. For me, anything that makes you die quicker is a good thing and at least you’ll enjoy life while you’re here. Ian Fleming smoked and drank like crazy and died super young and I’m sure he died very happy and with no regrets.

My Thoughts on Season 9: Episode by Episode

The last thing I’d like to talk about as far as Under Pressure is concerned is the storyline of Mack and Al Baker (that’s Red Buttons, in case you had forgotten). Al was in the premiere of the season and then he sat out the second ep, but now he’s back and we get to know him better. In this...

My Thoughts on Season 9: Episode by Episode

Basically, when we reach the final scene of the ep, the cops have finally successfully cornered Olivia. They’re at the house, both Detective The Hidden and Mack, and they’re talking to Olivia, but Abs isn’t there. Olivia is starting to get scared when Detective The Hidden starts reading her...

My Thoughts on Season 9: Episode by Episode

Like I said, Detective The Hidden goes through Lotus Point interviewing everybody, and I appreciated how this is all done quickly and efficiently. We’ll see him talking to Gary for a minute, then we cut to him talking to Karen, and then Paige, and so on and so forth. It’s a nice way of...

My Thoughts on Season 9: Episode by Episode

Anyway, the majority of Val’s material in this ep deals with her coming to terms with the fact that Ben’s not coming back. She was holding out hope for awhile, but now she’s seen the brand new opening credits sequence and she’s noticed that Douglas Sheehan has been removed from it, effectively...

My Thoughts on Season 9: Episode by Episode

The first new footage we get to see after our long recap is positively fabulous, and that is a very surreal sequence of a bunch of creepy kids walking around the playground like zombies and singing London Bridge is Falling Down together. What a strange way to start the ep, and I mean that in a...

Would You Take Back The Later Years?

For me the later years are almost 100% terrible, I was in legitimate pain trying to get through them the first time, and that’s one of the main reasons I’ll always prefer Knots. KL wasn’t always a work of artistic brilliance and it had its off seasons (8 and 13), but for me, Bobby gets hit by...
