I remember Linda Purl as Matlock’s lawyer- daughter in the first season.

Most Obvious Plot Hole In Dallas

True. As I have stated before, I really enjoyed the Wes/Jock story, but it certainly had its plot holes. There were all kinds of private things they could have asked to have proven it one way or the other, but they never went that deep. Jock couldn’t have rambled off every detail of his life...

Pam & the man from Atlantis.

Interesting. I didn’t know that. What season and episode? I assume that was thrown in for humor?

Which Character's Life Would You Choose To Have?

This is a very interesting question, but I can honestly say I wouldn’t want to be any of them if I had to be the whole package. I’m a very low drama person, and I don’t think the money or anything else they have would be worth it for me. They were great to watch, but I wouldn’t want to be ‘em.

If Jock Had Outlived Miss Ellie

That’s a very good point. We got to see him during some of the best years of Dallas, and that’s how we remember him. If he had stayed around the entire run, I’m sure he would have been involved in some weak storylines that might have changed his persona; J.R. wasn’t the same Jr in the last...

Dallas Character Was JR afraid of anyone?

JR had money and power. As long as he had that, I don’t think he feared anyone that would go up against him in that manner. I do think JR was often squeamish when it came to a one on one that might end in physical confrontation. I recall when Mandy spotted the fellow that was following her. JR...

If Dallas Had Taken A More Positive Approach

Was Patrick Duffy getting offers right and left while on Dallas? Did he have some promising things on his plate when he left Dallas, or did he just assume his phone would be ringing when he left? It didn’t take him long to decide it wasn’t a good career move.

If Dallas Had Taken A More Positive Approach

I’m not a writer, so I don’t have it all worked out, but I do like the idea of it being Bobby’s dream and some plot items staying intact during the season; that would be interesting.

    Another actor for Wes Parmalee

True. That is something they were never going to get back with Clayton. I guess Clayton was ok, but it made for a different dynamic. I wonder how it would have been if they had let Ellie stay single like Victoria Barkley?

    Another actor for Wes Parmalee

Have you ever read how they planned the storyline to go if he had been Jock? What did they plan to do with Clayton?

    Another actor for Wes Parmalee

Weren’t the producers originally toying with the idea that Wes would be Jock, at which point, I assume he would have stayed around? At that point, what was the plan? Would he and Ellie have gotten back together? What did they plan to do with Clayton at that point?

    Another actor for Wes Parmalee

So, if Wes had turned out to be Jock, what were they going to do with Clayton? That would certainly could have created an interesting storyline.

    Dallas: Canon, Fanon and Headcanon

That’s about as good of an explanation I suppose. I don’t know why, but it’s tougher for me to overlook physical changes without explanation. In this case, there was no explanation because it was supposed to be the same place. This would be like having a character in a wheelchair, and when a new...

Dallas Scenes That Didn't Make Sense

I recall that as well. That would be a great gig wouldn’t it?

Dallas Scenes That Didn't Make Sense

This is general, but one thing that never made sense to me is some of their in person meetings that could have been done over the phone. I remember a guy flew in from Houston to meet with Bobby over some business transaction. Bobby insisted they meet, but when he arrived, the discussion didn’t...

    Another actor for Wes Parmalee

Yes, I would have enjoyed seeing Steve Forrest in a more permanent role. I think I just liked Steve Forrest. I think he had a similar thing to Jock in a sense that he didn’t seem like the type to take crap from anyone, especially if he had been in a role that encouraged that personality more.

    Another actor for Wes Parmalee

I agree. As I mentioned in another thread, I really enjoyed the Wes storyline when it first aired. It kept me on the edge of my seat. Some, however, thought it strange that Steve Forrest had no similarities to Jim Davis whatsoever. As another poster mentioned, I did find it a bit strange that...

    Another actor for Wes Parmalee

It has been discussed at times that some feel the Wes Parmalee story wasn’t believable because Steve Forrest did not resemble Jim Davis in any was. Although he was a great actor and did a great job with the part, his mannerisms were different as was his build and walk. It goes without saying...

    Dallas: Canon, Fanon and Headcanon

In my mind, I try to imagine the house and offices in the first 5 episodes were the same as the rest of the series. The way it stands, it’s as if the first 5 episodes were a different universe. The house was totally different, and all the boys had separate, smaller houses. In the first episode...
