About 2005
I originally joined in June 2010, after reading several posts for a few years prior, I miss alot a threads that were started especially DYNASTIER (come on @Snarky's Ghost help me out here buddy :-D)
One member I do remember was Jason! Boy he irritated me at times with every thread I posted, he seemed to hate me because I liked and enjoyed season 4 and one day I dared to put that season in the same category as seasons 1, 2 & 9, and I honestly thought I had started world war's three, four, five and six, I enjoy debating with people and I think now our forum is a much calmer place and less divisive than what it was back in the early '10's

There was another poster on here who left and never returned and he was good but sadly I cannot remember his/her forum name,
Dynasty cest riche I also miss! She had a libary of unused Dynasty scripts which I still hope that she'll translate and post on here one day.

Who remembers the two members, one who was obsessed with Karen Cellini and the other who only liked Dynasty during the seasons/years it featured La Mirage! Those two cracked me up!
Someone was obsessed with Karen Cellini? Oh dear. Maybe it was her mother?

About 2005
I started watching dynasty during the later part of the 83-84 season. My favourite season was 84-85. Catherine Oxenberg was so beautiful but it did crack me up whenever a grown woman said ‘mummy, daddy’. I really enjoyed Alexis and dex then and his affair with Amanda. And JJ was so handsome. I liked Luke and steven too, thank goodness we’ve come a long way now, more than just a handshake or a brief hug. I loved the wedding massacre episode. That is my fav episode of the whole series to this day. It was so well done. Beautifully filmed and edited, wedding, outfits, the music, so dramatic done. I knew it was coming but it was still quite brutal and shocking. And then the follow up episode. That was probably one of my least favourite episodes of the whole series. Utterly ludricous, lost without Joan, no torn clothes, no Bullet wounds, not more dead. Not even the priest?!! Utterly lost any credibility. I mean it looked like they all could have died?! I continued watching (Groaning through Amanda’s mercifully short lived replacement) but it wasn’t until 88-89 that I really enjoyed it again and then they canned it?! Stephanie Beacham was good and Fallon finally had a great story since PSM left. I watched the series years later in DVD and the 81-82 season was superb when Joan came in and I liked Al Corley in the role and got to see how fun and fabulous PSM really was. Thanks Dynasty. You were great entertainment in your peak times and head bangingly silly at others. Loved you all the same :)

Of course Bobby and JR, twice her age, did the same.

Oh, I know...

Let's see Dynasty...

I first watched this show in the mid 1990s in the reruns on TV3 here in Sweden. I loved it. Alexis was my favorite characters and Jeff and Fallon my favorite couple. Also Joan Collins became one of my favorite actresses. I tuned in when she was on other shows like Pacific Palasides and such...

For my 16th birthday I had wished for Joan Collins autobiography. But my mom gave me a book by Jackie Collins instead and I threw a bitchy tantrum because she had gotten me a book of the wrong Collins sister! I could be so ungrateful sometimes as a teenager. :innocent:

Anyway I eventually got the right book, it was the "Second Act" one and I absolutely loved reading it. That book turned me into a fan.

Fast forward ten years later, I was studying journalism at the University at the time and I decided it was time to rewatch Dynasty. So I did and I still loved it. I got so hooked on it that I watched four or five episodes in a row one night. I am not one to usually binge watch TV shows so that behavior was not typical for me. But the show was just so addicting.

It was now I began making my first Dynasty fan music videos. I also loved watching the catfights and caviar reunion that came out around this time. :)

Yet my interest in Dynasty peaked in 2011 when I began reading Dynasty fanfics. The first one I found was Ss9's the series. I loved that story as it picked up after season nine and offered a much better alternative to what could have happened after the show went off the air than the reunion show...

I think the whole story is about 3-4 seasons with about 10 episodes each year. So it was addictive reading and so good as she managed to capture so much of the characters and it included all the characters too. So well I think one of the biggest losses was that all of the stories in the Dynasty writer's room disappeared in the crash. If you haven't read that particular story I mentioned I can recommend you to google for it. I know she posted it at some other places too.

Anyway I got so hooked on Dynasty stories that I eventually wrote my own one, which I've reposted in the new writer's room. I also made a bunch of Dynasty fan music videos around this time, as I was collecting the show on DVD and got more and more good quality material to work with. I used to have my own thread here for them that I posted in and I loved getting feedback from other fans. I think I might have restarted that thread after the crash and most of the videos are still available to watch on my youtube.

Then in October 2011 I went to London to meet up with some forum friends. "Ss9", "Wicked Abby" and another girl from Germany whose screen name on this board I can't recall. I really miss this group of girls on this board now and I miss "Minx" too even though I've never met her...

Anyway we watched Joan's One woman show together which was marvellous. The woman is a true legend and I loved all her stories about Dynasty and the classic Hollywood and name dropping that she did. :)

Since I was sneaky enough to ask Joan if I could have my photo taken with her during the Q & A session and I also pointed out that I had travelled in from abroad to see her (and almost gotten mangled in the escalator earlier that day - it was really scary!), I was allowed to go backstage afterwards and have my photo taken with Joan. It was a brief meeting and I don't think she liked me since when I asked if I could give her a hug she said no and requested that me and this other fan from the Philipines who had also been allowed backstage for a meeting and photo, were quickly escorted out! :giggle:

Not that I minded that much, as I was totally star struck and really happy just to have met her. :spinning:So it was okay and I love my photo with her! :)

I was a bit sad however that my friends weren't allowed to come backstage with me as I would have wanted them to have the same opportunity to meet Joan as I did. After the show my forum friends and I stayed up until in the middle of the night talking. So it was a fun weekend in England. My sister Jenny went to England with me and we enjoyed great summer weather in October and spent some time doing some Elizabeth Taylor sightseeing in Hampstead, but my sister didn't join me for the Joan Collins show as she's not a fan of Dynasty like I am. ;)

So well that's my favorite Dynasty memories from the past 20 years. :)

I guess. I suppose I just like to hug people I know and well that's what's so strange about celebrities, because of their fame we feel like we know them even though they are strangers. I think there's an expression for this fandom phenomenon that is called "Intimate strangers".
