Jimmy Todd got it right! It was the dastardly Willie Gust, who for reasons known only to the writers of the rather ridiculous episode, was driving across Texas in a conspicuous green van gleefully committing armed robberies for petty cash.

JR said this...but I just can't remember the circumstance.

"You ought to lock your front door. You never know who might walk in"

Actually that was Bobby to Tommy McKay before giving him a well-deserved hiding.

"If you're the liar and the pretender that many of us think you are, then you'd better find yourself a cemetery plot...because I'll track you down wherever you are, and I'll kill you!"

Thanks for the correction on the other.

I should recognize this, but I have no clue. Guess that can happen as I skip certain episodes.

That was Clayton to Wes Parmalee at the Oil Barons Ball.

Who said: "I tried to drink myself to death and I damn near did."

I think that's Jock to JR after his Asian well success, but also not too long after he mortgaged Southfork.

here's a potentially tricky one:

"Ain't nobody I can't outsmart when I set my mind to it."

(hint - early years, not a main cast character)

Close...JR showed Jock that SF was paid off, JR told 'daddy' that JR hoped daddy would be a little bit proud of him, then about the cartel boys wantin' a piece of the action. Jock then told JR he could understand, then took JR in to 'buy' him a drink.

Fredo in Texas? :crazyme: No...wrong viewing. No clue, but it's familiar.

yep, that's exactly the scene I was thinking of!

Speaking of Fredo:

"I assume that you've resumed your relationship with Texas's answer to Michael Corleone?"

Luther Fricke said it.

Who said: "If you don't feel pain, you don't really feel anything at all and that's not livin'."
