Walter Driscoll

I'm glad you posted about Walt Driscoll. We are doing a re-watch now and agree that the time around the contest for Ewing Oil is a great time to watch.

Until then, we would hear about blackmail and bribery but didn't see the effect it had on real people. Starting with Walt Driscoll we could say, "Hey, here is a normal, regular person just doing his job. And the contest for Ewing Oil destroyed his life."

To put a finer point on it: There is one thing to hear about blackmailing a corrupt judge we never see. Watching this happen to a regular person and witnessing it happen made the contest for Ewing oil very real.

Great season, and great writing! Not to mention great acting.

X
The revelation that Ray was Jock Ewing's son, the death of Jock Ewing, the contest for Ewing Oil. These storylines developed some great characters.
Not the Xerox copies of dull characters that would come in the later seasons.

Z - The bastard and the boob...both eventually were happy as they reached their zenith, tho' both were the result JR Ewing's double-dealings.

bout the bastard and the Boob. I love this line:

"I'm not one to pass judgement, but Cliff Barnes is lower than a snake's belly."

Well, I'm glad you're not one to pass judgment, or just imagine what you would say!

B- It was a mighty bitter day for JR and Sly to see the Weststar Tank Farm 17 replacing Ewing Oil Tank Farm 3 by boom crane in 1987.

D - Upcoming preview:

Does Jock's Washington contact have JR drafted to teach him some respect and hopefully lower a bit of his "fever for big bi'ness"?

Does Bobby, after the accident, wake up disoriented after his amnesia and realizing it's not Pam with blonde hair he's married to?

During her child-wanting frenzy, will Pam be dashed to bits on the jagged rocks below?

Stay glued to your seat for the next intellectually deep episode of DALLAS.

one of them high rises down in Venezuela
H - Bobby had a habit of delivering heartbreaking news at Thanksgiving Square, here telling popular legislator 'Wild' Bill Orloff that he could keep his house, but would have to resign his longtime position in the Texas State Senate in the wake of the second trust deed scandal that was unearthed by Cliff Barnes via a dalliance with Julie Gray

P - For women, it's Pam followed by Afton for me. Michelle was the cutest girl by far.
