Adam yelling in Season 9 -- and its squelching on DVD

We've mentioned this someplace before, probably before Soapchat was murdered two years ago...

But on DVD, Adam's yelling and bellowing are dramatically muted on the Season 9 DVD -- in different scenes and different episodes, leading one to assume it was deliberate. In certain moments, his angry dialogue is now virtually unintelligible as a result.

Do the other seasons do this on DVD to Adam?

And why did they do this? Was some female tech lessening Adam's toxic masculinity during the transfer to disc? Or something?

In "All Hands On Dex", there is audio suppression when Captain Handler starts to scream at Zorelli, and in "Virginia Reels" the same thing happens to Dex when he yells at Adam during their physical fight at Denver-Carrington.

There's definitely some post-post-production sound mixing going on for the audio for Season 9, and it's bad -- frequently squelching any yelling someone finds too harsh (they even do it to the female characters once or twice, especially near the end of the season). Sometimes to the point you can no longer ear what they're saying.

There also "remixed" season 8, which is great. Asides for a few endings, the music is now normal and not a noise sound anymore. It is really an improvment.

2017 I think (unless it is 2016)

I understand remixing the sound--the TV sets in the 80s did not have very sophisticated sound systems, but nowadays people are able to catch a lot more problems and imperfections are noticeable. But same as any editing, it must be done by someone who understands the product.

You'd have though they would have corrected Virginia's awful dubbing.

Let's tell him how disappointed we are.

Of course, the most significant indication that the Carrington World has become a shambles is the missing ice. Joseph would roll over in his grave if he knew that.

What about replacing her entirely a la George Lucas, though to be honest I don't remember much about her character except she vanished like Karen Cellini

Makes you wonder who exactly is in control of the happy family's ice consumption, of course Sue Ellen didn't need ice, she drank straight from the cooking sherry bottle

But who with?
With Dana, who should had stayed in season 9 (at least until Monica showed up).

Actually, I can see Adam treating her horribly because she blames her for loosing the baby. As the masochist that she is, Dana accepts the humiliation, at least for a while.

Missing ming, missing ice, missing mother, missing daughter, missing coherence, missing logic, missing the point entirely. Watching Dynasty.

Paulsen should have brought Oxenberg back.

It would have been a better option than keeping Virginia (the character was ok as long she was out of the mansion, living on her own. The moment she came in Denver, the bore fest and the ridiculous plots walked hand in hand. I mean, Virginia karate whore?)
