Could devolved government finally be returning to Northern Ireland after 3 years of deadlock? Sinn Féin have said they will re-enter the Northern Irish government and the DUP had previously stated it could support the current deal.

It seems that the DUP may have capitulated over the teaching of Gaelic in Northern Irish schools as the new deal has a commitment "to celebrate and support all aspects of Northern Ireland's rich cultural and linguistic heritage" and to "to recognise, support, protect and enhance the development of the Irish language in Northern Ireland".

Although it stops short of a firm commitment to teach Gaelic, it would be hard for them to block it once they sign up to this.

Have I interpreted this correctly or have I got this completely wrong?

No I think you are spot on! The government here disgusts me. Time to get moving. It's so embarrassing.
