Episode One: Absolutely Nothing’s changed.
The powerful women of Denver are shocked by the death of Blake Carrington at the marriage of Amanda and Prince Michael of Moldavia.
Krystle, Alexis, Dominique and Sable struggle to come to terms with the news.
Stephen awakens in the middle of the night to find his mother, Alexis, pulling documents from files in Blake’s home office.
Krystle, Blake’s widow, takes an interest in Marcus Stone, a politician who has recently moved to Denver; however, she faces competition with neice Sammy-Jo.
Suspicious that Marcus is spending the night with Sammy-Jo, Krystle enters Sammy-Jo's room apartment with the pretence of offering jewellery.
While inside, a faulty electrical socket, sets fire to the entire apartment.
Krystle flees the scene, leaving behind a coat she tried to use to put out the fire.
Though wracked with guilt, Krystle is relieved to learn that Marcus was not the man with whom Sammy-Jo was sleeping with.
Meanwhile, Dominique, a successful career woman, is frustrated with her daughter Jackie, while her husband Garrett, is constantly away on business.
Sable, feeling unappreciated by her family, is troubled when her husband Jason asks for a divorce. She poisons him by contaminating his food. Whilst in the hospital Jason accuses Sable of being frigid and obsessed with building an empire in he hotel industry.
Elsewhere, Alexis, grows unhappy with her marriage to Dex Dexter, who buys her love with extravagant gifts. She begins and affair with property developer, Jackson Young.
Alexis asks Krystle, Dominique and Sable to attend a dinner party in Blake’s memory. During the meal, she produces a letter and takes great pleasure in reading it out to those present:
I have everything I ever need to ruin your life, Blake Carrington.
Alexis reveals that Blake was in possession of the note the day he died and the women begin to wonder about the secret he intended to keep.
