Dallas Character "Ellie Saves The Day"-- one of the best scenes

One of the best scenes from original-recipe Dallas, at least IMO, was from "Ellie Saves The Day," OAD 11/30/79, when it was discovered that J.R. mortgaged Southfork without Jock knowing about it.


Two of the best quotes from that:

Jock: "How could you do this without talking to me first, J.R.?! How in the hell could you involve SOUTHFORK!"

Ellie: "Our home a calculated risk?! What kind of thinking is that?!"

Yes that was among JR's weaknesses. He acted without thinking it through or having a back up plan. I can understand why Ellie did not leave Southfork to JR. She clearly never forgave him for this.

I agree - it was one of the best and most memorable scenes from the glory years of Dallas. :wink@

IMHO, it was a powerful scene on so many different levels! :10: :yep: :bravo:
