Up in the spotlight, this week is

Emelee joined the forums back in early 2014, or at least I think that was the year. @Emelee??

Emelee loves her top ten and top five countdowns we have across some of the forums and has been behind various versions of soap chat and telly talk top ten/five, always thinking of new ways to countdown something.

Emelee also took part in our ‘THE BACHELOR’ game in which Emelee won the first game under the guise of The Prairie Wolf and winning the heart of @Willie Oleson.

Emelee, then took the role of BACHELORETTE as we played the game for a second time, choosing Brad Newman as her date, played by @Jessie

For a short period, Emelee was known as Emelee Newman on the forums

Emelee has taken advantage of our Telly Talk questions on favourite things, you just need to check out her profile page to see what it's all about

But what else do we know about Emelee, and what don’t we know?

Please take this week to ask as many, or little questions you have for Emelee including any follow-up questions that might arise during the week.

Enjoy your week in the spotlight.

I will start with one question that intrigues me with everyone.
Emelee, if you were to take part in Mastermind (a quiz show) what would be your specialist subject?

Thank you for the lovely introduction, @Ome. 2014 is likely, I don't recall myself. Had you said 2004, I'd probably think that it sounds likely as well.

I've had some time now to ponder your Mastermind questions as you always begin with that one. What do I know a lot about that would qualify me to the show? What do I know more of than most people on this planet? My answer is Stephanie Forrester trivia. For those of you who don't know who that is; it was character on the soap opera The Bold and the Beautiful between 1987-2012. If I had chosen a character name as my SoapChat/TellyTalk user name, I would have chosen Stephanie Forrester.

Thanks for taking time out to answer these questions.

1. What's your favourite soap opera (either past or present) and why?

2. Where do you like to go on holiday?

Hi @Emelee, I hope you enjoy your week in the spotlight.

1. Is Emelee your real name or just one you adopted for the forum?
2. I see you've chosen an image of Patsy from the sitcom Absolutely fabulous as your forum avatar. What makes you laugh and are there any other sitcoms you particularly like?
3. What are your favourite threads on this forum, either to post on or just to read?

Hello @Emelee ! :ello:

As I recall you are a fan of Game of Thrones.

1. Have you watched the series since it's ended last year?
2. Who were your favorite characters from that show. I do recall you liked Jaime Lannister.
3. About when did you start to follow Game of Thrones?

Hi, Englishboy. Thanks for your questions!
1) My favourite soap is probably Santa Barbara. At least the first few years of it. I loved the characters and that it mixed humour with drama. I also love the town of Santa Barbara.
2) I've always wanted to visit capital cities and big cities. On my list are Paris, London, New York, Rome, Athens, Prague, Copenhagen, St. Petersberg etc.
3) Overseas, ey? Never been overseas. The furthest away from Europe I've ever been was the Asian side of Turkey.
4) I used to post on daytime soap forums, but I don't do that anymore as I don't want any of them nowadays. TT is the only forum I post on currently.

Hi and thanks for your questions. Let's see here...
1) It's very close to my real name. I've combined my 2 names and made it English sounding by switching some letters.
2) What doesn't make me laugh? I have an overactive sense of humour, but I can't really be funny myself. Cracking jokes is not my thing, but I love laughing and having fun. I love several sitcoms. Friday Night Dinner, Frasier, Peep Show, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Soap, 'Allo! 'Allo!, Seinfeld, Married... with Children etc etc etc etc. etc. etc.
3) I am very fond of the top 10 threads. May it be ranking movies, music or TV-series - it doesn't matter. I love making lists! So any thread like that is automatically among my favourites.

Hi Michelle!

1) No, I haven't. But I will re-watch the entire series one day. Absolutely.
2) Yes, Jaime Lannister is my favourite. But I also very much like Tyrion, Tywin and Arya. I like the Lannisters more than the Starks. :)
3) After the 5th season. I recall how it was a huge deal and I thought I should give it a try. First episode was so-so. But the ending was fun so I watches episode 2, then 3. I binge-watched the 5 seasons that were out. From season 6 forward, I watched week by week, except the last episode of season 7 which I waited a long time to watch since I knew season 8 wouldn't be out in a long time.

Hi @Emelee! Can´t wait to reading your answers to all our questions! You´ll have a lot of fun!

1) Let´s say that Elon Musk organizes a space trip to a newly found idyllic spot in Mars. You are chosen to be the only civil passenger aboard, and you can have one person with you, and also a pet. Who and what would you choose? And, of course, the most important question, would you say yes, or no?

2) Let´s say that someone offers you, again, the choice between cashing a 5.000 euros check, or making a five-second cameo in "AbFab 2", getting drunk with Patsy. Which option would you choose?

3) I´m a list-ophile myself, and at some points of my life, I did lists of anything possible, especially when there was no internet. Here is a list of Soap characters and I dare you to classify them as the "Top Soap...whatever" (each in a different list). Example 1: "Alexis Colby, Top Soap Beech". Example 2: "Jeff Colby, Top Soap Dumbass", and so on (you don´t have to write "Top Soap", only the "category", eg "Alexis Colby, Beech".
Here is my list: Stephanie Forrester, Bobby Ewing, Lindsay Blaisdel, Jock Ewing, Krystle Carrington, and, well, Jessica Tate (because "Soap" was a soap, wasn´t it?)

4) What is your favorite song by Cher? And your fav movie of her (not too many to choose, I´m being good with this one)?

A lot of your fav things are mine too! I hope you had a great time this week!!

Hi @Emelee

I hope you will enjoy your week in the spotlight. :)

Here's some Swedish inspired questions.

1) Politics, how do you feel about the fact that we still haven't had a first female prime minister in Sweden?
2) What's your opinion of "Bingolotto"?
3) Living up north (albeit I don't know exactly how far up north), have you ever seen an aurora borealis? (norrsken)
4) What's your opinion of Carola?
5) What do you think about our way of dealing with the Covid-19 (no lockdown)?
6) What was it that sparked your interest in Greta Garbo?

That's all for now.

Hello, @Emelee:
1. are you for or against monarchy?
2. for many Germans Sweden is a romantic, idyllic place as if it's still stuck in the time of Astrid Lindgren's books or Carl Larsson's paintings. But Swedish TV crime shows that air here in these days depict the country as one of the most miserable places in the world where every village is plagued with serial-killers. The middle of these impressions - from an outsider view - may be Ingmar Bergman's films where depressed people live in beautiful homes with gorgeous landscape views. Which TV series or film represents Sweden in a way that is most recognizable or contemporary to you?
3. Garbo: Queen Christina or Ninotchka?
4. Married... with Children: Steve or Jefferson?
5. Will there ever be a 'Top 10 - All Time TV Favourites' list where any series is eligible?

Med vänliga hälsningar :)

Hi @Emelee , hope you enjoy your week.

1. As a Game of Thrones fan what did you think and feel about the final series, and the final episode?
2. Which show do you think had the best overall ending - and which had the worst?
3. Which ficticious world from TV or films would you choose to live in & why?

What's your most-wanted tv series on DVD?

Hmmmmm........ I choose between Soap and Mad About You. I only have season 1 of Soap because I can only find the rest with Region 1 coding. And I only have a dvd of "Best episodes of" of Mad About You.

But then again, I'd also like to have Helt Perfekt and Younger. I can stream them, but I want them on dvd.

I take it then that you want the rest of Soap for your area (Sweden)?

Hi @Emelee, we've discussed how Sweden has responded to Covid-19 on several occasions on another thread but I have a few questions about how it has impacted on you personally?

1. How has Covid-19 affected your day to day life?
2. What is the most positive thing you will take from living through this pandemic?
3. When things return something more normal, what do you look forward to doing most that you can't do now?

Enjoy your week Emelee :)

I wondered if you can remember how you found your way to Soap Chat/Telly Talk? and what attracted you to joining the forums?

Also, may I ask about your beautiful dog? how is he and how long have you had him?

Do you have any other pets?

Thanks
