Does anyone remember Linda Gray talking about Victoria Principal and vice versa? I don't remember.

I would like to clarify to appreciate both professionally ... and not only.

Time immemorial
I asked LG about VP when I interviewed her for the site [clang]. She either said, "I never really knew her" or "I don't really know her." I forget which.

About 2005
In the UK Dallas docomemtary from
2002 (maybe 2001 or 2003?) Victoria said that when Larry and Patrick used to have food fights at the Southfork dining table filming with the family her and Linda would just look at each other (like in either bewilderment or amusement)

On “Wogan” Linda was asked about rivalry between her and Victoria and she completely denied it. I feel that each had their own very strong fan base and so didn’t have to look over their shoulders. Linda was more sociable with Larry and Patrick but I don’t think that was the source of trouble. Victoria was naturally more insular :)

They both clearly have a ton of respect for each other but definitely were not close friends.

It would be a lovely thing to see if they followed each other on Instagram though. Here's hoping.

Plus Linda had a family (and was divorced around the time of season 4) so she was juggling her time a fair bit.

Like almost anything DALLAS related, there seems to be an awful lot of revisionist history when it comes to the actor's recollection of events. For instance, Larry Hagman on an episode of Larry King (video can be found on YouTube) with Linda said "we were always together"...Larry, Linda, Patrick, Victoria...and Charlene I believe was thrown in the mix as somewhat of an afterthought. A lot of early season pictures at events seem to prove that version too. Some might even say, they appeared a bit too cozy at times.

In recent years, we hear that Victoria never participated in the hanging out off set. Again, there seems to be lots of photos that would prove otherwise. We also hear the term, "three musketeers" thrown around the last few years and Patrick says that he, Larry and Linda would never make a DALLAS decision without each other's agreement. However, Larry and Patrick didn't mind when Linda was let go due to budget cuts. Budget cuts partly as a result of Larry and Patrick's huge salary increases...again, without caring about their female counterparts not getting equal pay or screen time.

So I would think it's safe to say that the DALLAS cast is pretty lucky that cell phones with camera and video capability, fed straight to the internet, weren't invented back then.

These statements confirm Linda and Victoria had two opposite personalities, although both positive in my opinion.

Linda very jovial and cheerful with everyone, great professional always and on all occasions.

Victoria capable of enormous humanitarian impulses and able to push some people away when not perfectly in tune with her, a more multifaceted, proud but always loyal personality.

Some of the best entertainment partners in history have disliked each other, but it didn't stop them being hugely popular.

I have always seen them as 2 very different people, who admired each others work but were not in each others pockets.

Victoria has done countless interviews and has always had total and utter respect for the show and her co-stars, and to my knowledge Linda is the same.

Dallas is a very old show now, many of the cast are no longer with us, so let's hope that the ones we have left don't have to listen to this rivalry rubbish that belittles both them and the show.

And let's be honest here, if there were ever fireworks between members of the Dallas cast, we'd have known all about it years ago.

I get on with many of my work colleagues, but don't socialise with many outside of work or get involved with their lives.
