2 questions:
1. why is the number of characters used in the message limited?
2. why can't I use the "enter" button to start the next sentence? I always forget this and then it's too late because the message has already been posted eventhough I wasn't finished yet.

It's down to the set up, the profile page is designed for quick messages and if a member wishes to speak more they have the optin of using the conversations.

Again, it's the way it was been created. Do you have the option to delete and re-send ?

2 questions:

You're not referring to posting messages on other member's pages are you? You're meaning the limit to your own status.

If you post anything on your own page it doesn't go anywhere, it becomes your status message and stays there until you post again.

Maybe it's better to reply on the other person's profile page:)

You can still reply on your own page. Whenever a member leaves you a message, there's an option (on the right) to 'like' the post or 'comment' on the post. That way the conversation stays in one place.

Or alternatively, you can just respond back on their own page.
