This is about TV series starring actors from the prime time soaps participating in the SoapLand Battles.

***PLEASE READ***

1. The "Other TV Series" exclude the prime time soaps participating in the SoapLand Battles.
We've already done this with the Soap Shifters.
All other soaps are eligible, of course.

2. To narrow things down a little bit, only use the actors that had a lead role in the 80s prime time soaps, but they don't necessarily have to be in the opening credits (e.g. Morgan Brittany).
This excludes all the guest stars, even if they were in the opening credits (e.g. Rock Hudson)

3. The role in the Other TV Series also has to be a lead role, or at least a significant supporting role.
Example:
Heather Locklear in Melrose Place: YES
Heather Locklear guest starring in one episode of Hotel: NO

4. You can choose only one Other TV Show for each actor.

5. Mini-series are also excluded since the format is too different from the recurring TV series.
However, the number of seasons of these recurring TV series is not relevant.
It can be 1 or 20 seasons.

Can the other show be from any era or is it just shows from the 1980s?

I've ranked them in order of how much I liked each show rather than how much I liked the characters they played. I hope that's correct.

1. Susan Sullivan - FALCON CREST - also starred as Maggie Porter in Rich Man Poor Man Book II

2. Barbara Rush - FLAMINGO ROAD - also starred as Marsha Russell in Peyton Place

3. Susan Howard - DALLAS - also starred as Maggie Petrocelli in Petrocelli

4. Mark Harmon - FLAMINGO ROAD - also starred as Dr Jack McNeil in Chicago Hope

5. Simon McCorkingdale - FALCON CREST - also starred as Jonathan Chase in Manimal

Can it be other than soaps? Sit-coms for example?

I assume big roles on daytime soaps are ok... Or?

Then this is my list. I didn't do a full research, just ranked the natural favourite series/actors that came to mind.

I ranked them by the series I prefered, not by characters. If I had done characters, I would have put SUN's Gregory Richards as #1, FYI.

I could have put Susan Flannery (Dallas) on B&B as Stephanie Forrester first, but I reckon she may have appeared too little on Dallas to count. Therefore, I chose Patrick Duffy instead. Less of a grey zone.

1. Patrick Duffy (Dallas) on The Bold and the Beautiful as Stephen Logan.

2. Kathleen Noone (Knots Landing) on Sunset Beach as Aunt Bette.

3. Sam Behrens (Knots Landing) on General Hospital as Jake Meyer.

4. Susan Sullivan (Falcon Crest) on Dharma & Greg as Kitty Montgomery.

5. Nicollette Sheridan (Knots Landing) on Desperate Housewives as Edie Britt.

*For B&B, I could have chosen Lorenzo Lamas. But I much more prefered Patrick Duffy's character.*

1 - Morgan Brittany (Dallas/Glitter)

2- Susan Sullivan (Falcon Crest/Castle)

upload_2020-1-10_10-54-46.jpeg

3- Alec Baldwin (Knots Landing/30 Rock)

upload_2020-1-10_10-59-10.jpeg

PS: I know the pic doesn´t have anything to do with none of the shows but such an image with all Baldwin brothers showing all their hair glory (except for Billy, does he shave it?) is worthwhile!

4- Ted McGinley (Dynasty/Married with Children)

*Hair love* :danc:

5- Stephanie Beacham (The Colbys/Sister Kate)

Amen!

Honorable mentions:
- Michelle Phillips (Knots Landing/Hotel - she was in the opening!) :spinning:
- Cassie Yates (lol!) (Dynasty/Rich Man Poor Man II)
- Jamie Rose (Falcon Crest/Lady Blue)

1) Linda Evans - DYNASTY: previously starred in THE BIG VALLEY, which commenced 16 years earlier.

2) Victoria Principal - DALLAS: got over the fire balls and was a leading star in TITANS which started in the new millennium with much promise.

3) Susan Sullivan - FALCON CREST: made CASTLE a must watch, commencing in 2009.

4) Robert Foxworth - FALCON CREST: had a leading role in SIX FEET UNDER, 14 years after his dive into the San Francisco Bay.

5) Bill Devane - KNOTS LANDING: the serial 24 provided another main role, some 22 years after the DALLAS spinoff finished.

Oh, I could have so much fun just listing relevant actors for this battle...but since we have to narrow it to five:

1. Constance McCashin (Knots Landing/Brooklyn Bridge)
2. Stephanie Beacham (The Colbys/Sister Kate)
3. Kevin Dobson (Knots Landing/Kojak)
4. Kathleen Noone (Knots Landing/All My Children)
5. Donna Mills (Knots Landing/General Hospital)

Honorable mentions go to

Kim Morgan Greene (The Colbys/Another World)
Leann Hunley (Dynasty/Days of Our Lives)
Emma Samms (Dynasty/The Colbys/GH)

This excludes all the guest stars, even if they were in the opening credits (e.g. Rock Hudson)

At risk of sounding facetious, are we definitely OK to use Heather's Melrose role since she was billed as a "Special Guest Star" for her entire run?

I'm not trying to edit my original choices, but I need to add one additional "honorable mention" that others might want to consider:
Ray Abruzzo played Det. John Zorelli on Dynasty

and Det. Tony Giuliano (Christine's husband) on Night Court
upload_2020-1-15_20-46-23.jpeg

He's a good actor, but as I recall, John and Tony were basically identical characters. One was surrounded by loony characters placed in hilarious situations, and the other....was on Night Court.

Honorable mentioning goes out to Juan Pablo Di Pace. I really didn't like his character on Dallas but I love his character on Fuller House :hat:
