It was a cliffhanger, yes, but season 1 was so MUCH better! Not saying it was horrible. I watched the last few minutes. Did I enjoy it...No. I didn't watch all the episode. Who are the bodies? Why do we even care? They weren't even real characters on the cast. I read Jeff faked his death. I haven't seen the entire episode yet. I need to. As I mentioned before I HATE Liam. They should get rid of him. When he showed up for season 2 I got so bored and I tuned out. The way they ended Adam was dumb. I thought he would be worse. So he hit Liam over the head, then he just gathers at that wedding? They could have had him trying to kill someone or something in that last scene. The cliffhanger was NOT that effective. I did not care for the dead bodies (Trixie, a friend of Fallon's and someone else in the lake who I read might be a hitman or something killed mid season or something). Liam in the pool was weak. He needs to die. They need to write him off. I think Fallon and Culhane are gonna end up together by the time the series wraps in season 4. It won't get more than a 4th season. Ratings are TERRIBLE! The Netflix deal will save it until they have enough episodes.
Something similar to last seasons's cliffhanger is the writers got everyone together, put them outside, and they just look around all dumbfounded. Last season's was MUCH MORE BETTER. This season they are all alive and well, looking around like idiots. Last season at least there were a few people in that fire. I don't think anyone cares about the dead bodies. And of course, people are Liam fans. I'm not one of them. That's why I hope they kill him off.
Trust me, Fallon and Culhane are NOT ever getting back together at any rate. Not now, not next year, not ever. It's very clear at this point that the writers and producers see Fallon and Liam as as the ultimate couple of the show and for those of us that either don't like Liam or Falliam, we have no choice but to accept that. And I won't be surprised if Michael gets written off next season. They have totally and utterly destroyed his character for absolutely no reason all because of a stupid storyline just so Fallon and Liam can become a thing again. In the grand scheme of things Michael isn't really that important to the show long term. Why else would they put him with Kirby? Because they simply have no idea what to do with the character. And now that he's been apprehended by the FBI and possibly going to federal prison, we may never see him again. And that is just as well. And now with Dominique's other kids from her second marriage possibly coming on board, there's even less reason to keep him around on a permanent basis.
I liked Liam when he had a mysterious dark edge to him when he was first introduced and then when they transformed him into the predictable, bland good guy, I pretty much lost interest. And now since Fallon and Liam have officially started becoming an item, Liam has turned into a passive, weak, pathetic wimp and all Fallon ever does is order and boss him around and use him for her own selfish, manipulative purposes.
It's pretty clear to me that she sees him as nothing more than a tool to be used for her diabolical schemes and she has very little if any respect for him. I've seen the argument so many times that Liam supposedly makes Fallon a better person but I just don't see it. In fact I think they both bring each other down as characters and as a couple. At least when Fallon was with Michael she was a lot more human. Not only is Falliam a horribly written couple but the storylines revolving around them are also poorly written and godawful. Laura actually could have proved to be a great obstacle but nooo.... they have to send her away because this show hates dragging out stories anymore than they have to. It's gotten to the point where I actually like that Adam is messing with them and Fallon, because Fallon is proving more and more each week that she's simply too stupid to live by allowing Adam to outsmart her and ignoring her mom's advice even though she's supposedly the "strong, independent woman".
Plus Fallon's character as a whole has totally regressed and she has now mainly be reduced to a selfish, spoiled, egotistical, narcissistic, childish brat. She's not somebody to be admired and idolized. She should be a cautionary tale of what happens when a young woman receives too much money and power too quickly.
Season 1 wasn't perfect, but at least it had well defined story arcs and characters had decent development. This season? This season really is a definition of a hot mess. It had ridiculous subplots that had nothing to do with the main story, horrible characterization, lack of actual story or plot points... I can go on and on. I don't know if Season 3 is going to be any better but at this point I'm not going to bother getting my hopes up. The people behind this story have clearly demonstrated they just don't give a crap. It doesn't matter if you have the hottest couple on social media if the writing is not there to support them or anyone else on the show. That's why the ratings are in the toilet. Because the writing sucks period.
