It weirdly also looks like the exterior of Alison's offices from Melrose Place.

EDIT - It is! I just checked on IMDb. Dynasty also filmed bits of the 1982 episode The Hearing there too.

That is indeed D&D Advertising on Melrose Place! And I recall now reading way back on one of those Melrose fan-sites that's where the old Spelling Entertainment Inc. used to be. Oh, what a fun place Hollywood can be. They were all in the same building and suing each other's asses in 1986.

I guess the Evans part probably came from this site and the fact that Krystle obviously didn't appear on The Colbys while Blake, Adam, Steven, and Dominique all did. It's even stranger since Evans and Stanwyck were reportedly such very good friends. And if Huson and Bast were open to having her on the show then why wasn't she?
Actually, in the bible of the Colbys, Krystle is not mentionned. So I guess there was no plans for her.

With Huson and Bast gone, someone would have to have come up with season three's bible and very quickly too.
They wanted to leave but so did Linda Evans and yet she stayed another year. Maybe someone could have convinced them to stay for another year, especially since it was clear that the show wouldn't live more than a season (if not half a season !)

Thank you Alexis! Some interesting stuff about Stanwyck there. Old habits obviously died hard with some of those golden era actresses. Also, presumably off the back of her Thornbirds success, Barbara was expecting to have more of a Jane Wyman-esque presence on the show. Alas, it doesn't matter who you are, you're always going to be second fiddle when Stephanie Beacham's onscreen.

Thanks for obtaining and posting, @Alexis --- great read!

I almost spat my soda when I read the part about the Pollocks maintaining continuity and avoiding anachronisms...!

Incidentally, do you have an example of what you would ask, @Alexis?
Apart from the questions that Mr Huson couldn't answer (to be honest I was surprised that he remembered so many details).

Ask who? Mr Huson or Esther Shapiro?

Thinking about it, I can see Susannah York working as a possible Frankie. She's a very different type of actress than Katharine Ross.

Also I absolutely love the story behind the naming of Sable. From a fairy tale about a princess named Sabella who had her heart stolen by an evil fairy.

I mean you could say that's not only the story of how Sable got her name. It's the story of The Colbys. That's really quite amazing to me.

It seems that Constance had been undermining Sable's status as THE Mrs Colby from the very beginning so maybe that made her a little more ruthless.
I wouldn't say that Sable was heartless, she was just very....selective, and showed no mercy to those outside her "circle" (i.e. poor Jeff and Fallon).
