I stumbled onto this clip from a Dom DeLuise special from 1986. Red Buttons is also in the sketch. It spoofs the vapidity of news broadcasts. Fast forward to 3:45 for Joan's bit, a surprisingly dead-on Dr. Ruth. I just wish the jokes were sharper.
