Top Poster of the Month - Update April 2023

It's been a little over a year since we installed the Top Poster of the Month feature, and it's been great watching the members go up and down the ladder as each month comes to a close.

Looking at the leaderboard for the whole duration and we have a remarkable accomplishment from DFF.

Well done, @DallasFanForever, on seven consecutive months for taking the crown, and it's looking like October could be your month too.

To spice things up a little, we will introduce a new rule where the month's winner will be excluded for the following month and then brought back in the month after that.

We aim to make it a little more fun with no intention to upset any members in adopting this new rule.

Going forward there will be one change which will see each member reach the top and then out of the game for that calendar year. This will mean we will have 12 TPOTM each calendar year to add more variety.

I've never understood why it's so important for some people to be the top poster of the month. Hence why it's never been me.

I have to agree, and that’s coming from someone who’s been top poster of the month several times. I post cause I love doing it. Where I end up on the list at the end of any given month was never my priority. I’m here for the interaction, the discussions, the laughter, the fun, and the fact that not a day goes by that I don’t learn something new. I honestly couldn’t picture my life right now without this site or without so many of you in it.

Whether it’s checking the Dallas calendar of @Barbara Fan every morning to see who’s next, or if it’s reading the wonderful and often humorous movie reviews of at @Mel O’Drama and @Angela Channing, or @Luke_Krebbs_Ewing driving me nuts all day by telling me that Wes Parmalee was Jock Ewing all along, or @Snarky Oracle educating me on Dynasty when my posts over there draw nothing but silence, or when @Long Lashes tries to murder me by pushing me off a cliff over on another thread so she can have her crown back (true story), these are the reasons I’m here.

I wouldn’t change any of it or have it any other way.

Ditto - my sentiments entirely, like it matters - it doesnt

I would also take out every ABC type of thread, what did you eat, buy, listen to type of thread out of the equation - a very easy way to rack up the posts

But thats just me

I love the @Mel O'Drama type of posts - well composed and thought out following a TV programme that I enjoy

eg Tenko and now wonderful Crossroads, which i am following a few discs behind, its great to look out for his observations and makes it all the more worthwhile

I'm on the fence about it!

I might have to get in contact with my friends at the FBI about this new decision!

As a versatile top, I suppose I can live with it!

Even so, and as a fan of the hit TV series Dallas I guess I can be gracious enough to let other people assume the mantle.

However, if anyone attempts to have fun at my expense as the grandson of legendary oil baron Jock Ewing I'll destroy them!

Hi Mods, any chance of a post counter on the main page for every member now that the Top Poster of the Month settings are being changed.

I would normally check the TPOTM bar to see how many posts I'd made recently. Any chance of a post counter please.
