Hi Mods, any chance of a post counter on the main page for every member now that the Top Poster of the Month settings are being changed.

I would normally check the TPOTM bar to see how many posts I'd made recently. Any chance of a post counter please. :)

If post count matters, it can be seen in the info box under your name. :hat:

On top of the advice Mel gave you, you can see all your posts by clicking on your avatar at the top of the page and then hit ‘your content’.

Or, alternatively you could have a pen and notepad handy to list all the posts you have made each day. :)

Don't be sarky or I'll have to put you over my knee buddy! :p

Going forward there will be one change which will see each member reach the top and then out of the game for that calendar year. This will mean we will have 12 TPOTM each calendar year to add more variety.

I think it's a good idea as it would hopefully discourage members from posting inane, repetitive posts which add nothing to the conversation just to get their post count up.

I'm so please I found this, even a little late (behind everyone else as usual) as it's helped me understand a few things.

I did wonder how top poster of the month worked and now I know. I'm not one of those that posts for the sake of posting just to increase number of posts. I post simply because I enjoy it and want to add my little bit. I hope I manage to contribute to conversations in a meaningful way.

I'm happy that I was top poster in June, that will always be special to me and was achieved probably because I posted a lot about going to the reunion and shared lots of photos.

Great that you've found it useful, @LMLDallas78.

I think this year's change to allow members to be Top Poster Of The Month once per calendar year has freshened things up and added variety.

Here's how the first two thirds of this year look:

2023
January - Snarky Oracle!
February - DallasFan Forever
March - Luke_Krebbs_Ewing
April - Barbara Fan
May - James from London
June - LMLDallas78
July - Ked
August - Daniel Avery

Half of 2023's Top Posters have taken the title for the very first time since we began back in 2020.

It's especially wonderful to see the variety of members and avatars appearing on the Top Posters Of The Month board on the home page. Most of these would never have appeared there under the previous format, and it's so good to see more of the community being showcased.

Well that's a great reason. :rainbow:

Does anybody think the streaming in HD availability of DALLAS will impact Tellytalk in terms of increased traffic (in contrast to the show actively being rerun on some viable station)?
I dont know as people will watch it all at different times, Its not like it will be shown on a wed night at 8.10pm with everyone watching - like the old days

Sadly i think the forum will become "busy" when a cast member passes away (sadly) Traffic increased when Barbara and Larry in particular passed away

I don't think it's fair if you let legacy members as @tommie run free with multiple accounts. I expect you to terminate @RandallAdams . Or I do the same shit with multiple accounts per VPN.

As members have probably figured out by now, there are no prizes involved in Top Poster of the Month, except perhaps a light case of Carpal Tunnel Syndrome.
But hey, whatever lights your candle.:bravo:

For October, our TPOTM is Randall Adams.

So that case of Champagne and the caviar didn't come from TellyTalk?

And now it looks like I'm permanently blocked from entering the the top-poster-of-month list (shades of ESC).
Is it because I'm always too flamboyant about my victories?

I dunno
I'm really surprised that I got top poster of the month, but apparently that's always been my master plan. I guess I'll have to register another poster to get it this month!

Incidentally, it looks like RandallAdams has vanished into thin air.

That doesn't make sense because it only means you'd have to post twice as much (if you want to win as tommie or as the fake account).
But somehow I feel you expect us to understand that, as it would be revealed in an Agatha Christie story.
