Moldavian massacre and 19 come together for a second time in a history. In May 1985 when the original cliffhanger was broadcast, there was a hit single by british musician Paul Hardcastle called "19" reaching the top of the charts in many countries.

Anyway, we're lucky enough to have a season 4 :
Because of covid-19, Empire couldn't even shoot its series finale. And there is a big chance it will never get to be shot.
The show ended with episode 18. It means that 2 episodes are missing : 19 and 20 (the series finale). Imagine the frustration for the writers, actors and fans.

I dunno
Since Jeff has to die (RIP) how about they do the dopplegänger plotline with him?

Like, Jeff dies from whatever and Alexis is in charge of his company. Dominique meets a near-enough Jeff look-a-like and has him undergo surgery to resemblance her dead son. Let the gaslighting commence!

I had a similar idea. When she was a late teen (18?), her younger sister (17?) got pregnant with her boyfriend. Dominique convinced/forced her to have an abortion, has she thought the boyfriend was no husband material, and that her sister would waste her life. Dom was obviously wrong. Her sister later got married with the boyfriend, and when they tried to get pregnant, they found out she couldn't carry a baby because of her abortion. So she got very, very mad at Dom.

When Dom got pregnant, her doctor told her she was expecting twins. As Dom is not much mother material, she was not excited by the idea to care for 2 babies at the same time. So she faked a huge remorse feeling to her sister, and told her she was willing to give her one of the twins, as long as no one knew (even Cecil) that she was expecting twins. Her sister agreed, and faked her own pregnancy. When Dominique delivered the boys, she named one Jeff, while her sister named the other... Miles. Her sister raised the baby, but decided she had to move far from the Cecil and Dom, because she knows that Cecil would notice that the boys were twins, when growing older. Dom and her sister (Sable?) were afraid that their secret would surface. So they moved away far from each other.

If/when Jeff dies, Dom has planned to use Miles as a doppleganger to stop Alexis to get the money... And divorce her.

Soap Drama!

Or Cecil had an affair with some other woman and they produced a (non-Carrington) Jeff look-alike who was raised by his mother with no Colby interactions. Dominique already knew about the affair and had no use for the kid until she sees the resemblance to Jeff all these years later.

But hey, this is Dynasty. We have a reputation for taking the recast and making it an art form. Let SA return to play Steven. :eck:

Maybe Dom's sister name can be "Sable Devereaux", married to "Jason Scott"... So she'd basically be "Sable Scott" like the OG.
The other twin (the one Dom gave to Sable) is indeed Cecil's son too, so he'd be "Miles Scott" (official name) but indeed as he finds out who his real father is, he can reclaim the last name. Miles Colby.

This way Jeff Colby can die but Sam Adegoke can stay. It gives a new storyline to Dom too : her scheme to take everything from Alexis with the help of fake Jeff (Miles)

Sable could be married to Cecil's brother, Jason Colby. In the original, Sable also married the brother of her sister's husband !

Sable could be married to Cecil's brother, Jason Colby. In the original, Sable also married the brother of her sister's husband !

Right. So Sable is Married to Jason Colby, Cecil's brother. It would make sense. Dynasty and the Colby always had those weird "family secrets, hidden children, or "son who is not the son of" storylines. So yeah, let's sum up the back story :

Dom's younger sister, Sable, dates a young Jason Colby. She gets pregnant. Dom "forces" Sable to abort (She thinks her pregnancy will shame the family, she tells her Jason is no husband material, she convinces Sable that a baby will ruin her life). Sable doesn't want to abort, but finally agrees. She regrets it everyday.

Sable & Jason relation go stronger and stronger, they get married. At their wedding, Dom meets for the first time Jason's brother : Cecil. Jason and Cecil don't have a friendly brotherhood. They never got along since they were kids. Jason has accepted to be at his brother's wedding as a duty. Anyway, Dom & Cecil fall in love. they get married, and Dom gets pregnant. Sable is really upset by the news, as Jason & her had tried many times to get pregnant, without success. Some tests will reveal that she can't have babies because of the abortion she had. It creates a huge fight between her and Dom.

As Cecil works a lot, he can't go with Dom to the doctors, to check and survey her pregnancy. Dom learns she's expecting Twins, and she's not excited by the idea. She decides to not tell to Cecil. She doesn't want to have 2 babies. So has a plan.

She decides to give one of the twins to her sister. And no-one but Jason and Sable must know. Dom fakes guilt, to explain why she's giving away one baby. She claims it breaks her heart, but she needs to fix the damages she's done to Sable. Sable buys the excuse, and she wants a baby so much that she'd agree anyway.

Sable fakes her pregnancy to her family and friends (only Jason and Dom know)

Both sister and Jason travel far from Cecil, taking a long week holidays as an excuse, while Cecil is doing business. Dom delivers secretly in a rented house with the help of Sable and Jason. She names of the babies Jeff, while Sable and Jason name the other one Miles.

Sable & Jason decide to move far away from Dom & Cecil, as they know Cecil can never meet Miles.

EDIT : if we want to twist it, (and make it more soapy) we can even have Dom a one night stand with Jason while/just before marrying Cecil. This way, the twins would actually be Jason's and not Cecil's. And this would explain while Jason would agree to raise Miles as his, because he knows it's actually his... Poor Cecil. Clueless at every step... :D

I would sacrifice over half of the main cast to pay Ana Brenda enough to come back for the Rita storyline and for there to be a scene with her and Daniella where the Carringtons can't tell them apart.

Oh, that would be priceless! But I'm guessing it would have to be part of a dream sequence rather than a "real" story. They would not be able to keep up the "joke" of no one being able to tell the difference between the two actresses. No need to ruin a great gag by over-playing it.

Similarly, they could purposely have a flashback sequence (maybe to the lakeside wedding cliffhanger) where C3 recalls something that happened there, and when they resume the scene, DA has this puzzled look on her face and has to check a mirror while someone else in the scene is talking. One Life to Live did this exact gag with the character of Blair Cramer, when she (a tall, blond woman) recalled her wedding to Asa Buchanan (when she was played by a petite, Asian woman). Like NuDynasty, OLTL had that ability to poke fun at such soap conventions within the confines of the show.

And I have long advocated for Nicollette Sheridan to make a few surprise guest appearances as "flashback Alexis" (playing her whenever EH's Alexis recalls something she did in the distant past). They could even have a running gag that whenever Alexis needs to give herself a pep talk in the mirror, she would see her former self (NS) reflected back at her. But then, there might be as much chance of NS going back as there is for NK, so it will just have to be a golden, missed opportunity.

I doubt we'll ever see NS on Dynasty again, but I suspect that at some point down the line we'll see Liz play a "young Alexis" in flashbacks. Basically, the same voice and mannerisms she used for Fallexis but without the facial prosthetics.

Worst scenario for season 4 : Elaine Hendrix leaves for personal reasons, and they have to recast again. This time without explaining the face change (like C3)
Just kidding, Elaine is here to stay, like Daniella. Thank God, at last, a season with no A&C recast...

The only recast angle they have not explored yet would be for Elaine Hendrix to leave and be replaced by....Nicollette Sheridan, who returns to the role after (hopefully) her mother goes into remission and NS is lured back by honchos at the CW. The show would have Alexis leave town for a few weeks (perhaps a vacation with Jeff), and then return with a new/old look, with none of the characters even noticing or commenting. Bonus Points if she returns a filthy rich widow.

And now that Nathalie Kelley's show is cancelled, they can also bring her back as Rita Machado. Celia's long lost twin sister.
Or simply replace Daniella Alonso as Cristal Flores Jennings Carrington. With no-one mentioning the face change. It would be so lame and it would make no sense. So why not? :D

Blake said Alexis had skeletons in her past. Maybe it's literal. Is it time to resurrect the Roger Grimes OG/retconed story and have a convoluted third body/skeleton in the lake?

Just kidding about the lake thing. But I wouldn't mind having a new Roger Grimes plot.

Just thinking about the amazing season 9 : Nu Dynasty's Adam sabotaged Blake's oil ships just like Alexis & Adam sabotaged Sable's ships. It was a nice touch. I hope Nu writers will watch season 9 and take some inspiration of that.

One assumes they have a plan to burn down Sam's hotel as a season-ending cliffhanger at some point. But if they destroy the hotel Sam will be back to having no story. So long live La Garbage.

Since they've already done the big fire thing I wonder if it would be better to do the Moldavian massacre in La Mirage (Adam's wedding?)

Or send the La Mirage-haters from outer space.

I recall when Independence Day came out, people were discussing that scene and a comedian joked "In the film, the Capitol is destroyed, and First Lady is killed. Bill Clinton calls it 'the feel-good hit of the summer'.":llooll:

Thanks for the anecdote.

Personnally, I still don't get over the fact that humans could hack Aliens computers in this movie...
I mean especially at the time, it was like hoping that a PC specialist could hack a Macintosh computer with zero knowledge of the OS system. And yet, it was still human tech....

I've just noticed that absolutely no-one mentioned "Amanda" for Nu Dynasty.
I agree, she's not a plot. OG Dynasty's Amanda was mainly a Fallon replacement. But her coming to Denver, her links with the Carringtons, sleeping with Alexi's husband, were a kind of soap storyline.
