Fab! Where did you find them?
I found them when I was searching for the water-themed songs and I liked it because it reminded me of Saint Etienne.
I bought the album without checking the rest of the tracklist (it was a bargain) and when I heard this song I assumed there would be songwriter credits for David Bowie, but he's not mentioned in the sleeve notes.
The beginning of the verses almost sound like Let's Spend The Night Together. Almost - dammit, otherwise I would have called it Let's Spend The Night On Mars.

p.s. I think it's time we're going to do the Three Degrees Top 10.

That's very beautiful, I've played the video 4 times, also because I wanted to know what they mean by "not as good as" and "the real thing".
Is it "to feel" (the real thing?) vs. "to see" (not as good as)?

Gosh, I'm not sure. In the advert version of 'I'd Like to the Teach the World to Sing', "the real thing" was Coke, but I don't think they're singing about Pepsi.

I'll see which one has the most original (written for the Seekers) songs.

My favourites are 'Now' and 'Circles'. And 'We'd Like to Teach the World to Sing' has the most well-known hits plus a lovely mash-up of 'Georgy Girl' and 'Ticket to Ride'.

Any song that namechecks Poly Styrene, the Shangri-Las and the Slits would automatically get my vote but that is really great.

I was torn over what to choose from Bruce Springsteen's new album. It's all so good, but it came down to a toss-up between 'Drive Fast (The Stuntman)' and this:
