That's the Mary Stuart Masterson role. Reba is a bit old for that part but maybe the TV series is set in a different timeline.

I wonder if the series will explore Idgie and Ruth's lesbian relationship which was in the book but wasn't really addressed in the film.

I'm not sure what is going to happen with it. I've only found little tidbits here and there about the show.​

That’s too bad. I was looking forward to this actually. I really liked the movie and was waiting to see if this would be similar.
