I’m not a fan of this genre
It's not like I started to listen to hiphop and R&B because of EMPIRE but the music scenes never bothered me, and I found it interesting to watch some of that culture.
Any music culture is interesting to me. I'm sure MONARCH isn't going to be a musical like CWDYNASTY.

I like many genres, but as much as I love music, sometimes it can be too distracting.

I’ve always struggled with country, even though I enjoy couple of mainstream country songs.

I had a hard time with Gaga’s A STAR IS BORN & I never made it to the end of the first season of NASHVILLE.

Have you watched EMPIRE
Yes. The first season was brilliant and I bought the music from that one, but somewhere around season two I lost interest. I can’t remember why. If I didn’t have such a colossal of shows to do I would probably go back in.

WOW!!! How on earth did I miss the news that both Susan Sarandon and Anna Friel had been cast in this? I'm looking forward to this as FOX's other soap offering this season (Our Kind of People) didn't grab me in the way I thought it would.

My experience was the same, although I hung on until the start of season 3 before bailing. Season 1 was excellent but I think it started to unravel in the final episode when they removed the central premise of who'd succeed Lucious after he was gone. I did plan to go back & rewatch it all recently but it had been removed from Prime.

Watching this trailer and it felt like I've just watched the first season. A good trailer should tease you, spark an interest but not give away too much of the premise. Or it could be I'm not a big fan of Susan Sarandon.

Why do American productions keep casting British actors in American roles? I was thinking the same thing when I saw Benedict Cumberbatch recently in the film Power of the Dog and now Anna Friel is in this.

I was looking forward to seeing this. Whatever spin they're putting on it, to move a show two weeks before it's launch date doesn't fill you with confidence.
They changed showrunners too, so I assume that whatever has been filmed post-pilot isn't the direction the networks wants. I imagine that a lot of material will be scrapped and re-written.

It's finally premiering next Sunday (9/11 - what a date!) at 8PM, with a repeat right after and then two other repeats of the pilot on Monday and Wednesday, so they're pushing this hard!

Time period premiere on 9/20 at 9PM.
