“The Simpsons Tapped Out” mobile game is ending

Electronic Arts have announced that the iconic mobile gaming app “The Simpsons Tapped Out” is ending for good in January 2025.

Such sad news. I’ve been playing it for more than a decade now and will be gutted to see it close.

Electronic Arts haven’t given a reason behind the decision but I’m guessing that it is presumably because it is no longer returning a profit or a big enough profit.

Are there any other fans or players of this mobile game on these forums?

If so, what are your thoughts on this announcement and will you be sad to see it go?

I've played for years and I had 263 characters.

I have been annoyed that the app took up over 3 gb space on my phone, so when I heard the game is ending, I uninstalled the app.

Sad, yes. But I decided to think of it as one of the good TV series I follow ending after a long run.

When I first started playing this game in December 2013 it had 38 levels.

Fast forward 10 years and it now has a total of 939 levels.

I’m currently somewhere in the 700s so won’t now get to reach level 939 in the limited time available
