There has been a lot of discussion about alternative ideas about the resolution of The Dream Season/Bobby's death. What other alternative ideas do you have for Dallas cliffhangers?

For example,

Season 10: after she hangs up the phone to Bobby she looks into her rear vision mirror and sees Katherine who injects her with a syringe. Bobby's car is found empty on the side of the road and Pam is missing.

Season 5: With the Ewings gather for the celebration at Southfork over J.R. and Sue Ellen's reconciliation, Cliff being more despondent than ever drives his car through the Southfork living room

Season 2
I would’ve had the kidnapping of the baby as the cliffhanger instead of waiting for the first episode of the next season. The baby being gone with all of their shocked faces outside the nursery would’ve made for a better freeze frame.

Season 4
Instead of drowning Kristin is found shot to death at Southfork. In the aftermath the next season the crime is never solved and strangely ruled as a probable suicide since the gun turns out to be hers and only her prints are found on it.

Season 10
Pam dies in the accident with the final scene being her in the hospital with Bobby watching as she flatlines. Would’ve been a nice wink and a nod to the season 8 cliffhanger.

Season 12
Sue Ellen tells J.R. she will definitely be releasing the movie and it’s nonnegotiable.She tells him she plans to destroy his life and expose all his dirty misdeeds and transgressions. He follows her outside trying to change her mind by talking some sense into her. She won’t listen to him and trying to get away from him she crosses the street too abruptly and is struck and killed by a car.

Season 13 - With all of the main cast away from Southfork, that would have been the perfect time for the ranch to get robbed and the house cleaned out. The final cliffhanger shot could pan across an empty living and dining room. Many ways the story could go in Season 14 with the downside being, you might lose the Sanitarium and Sheila Foley storylines.

Season 11

After Nicholas plunges to his death and Sue Ellen picks up the gun, JR rushes her and they struggle. We hear the gun go off twice, Sue Ellen and JR fall together with JR landing on top of Sue Ellen, and we see blood running out into the floor.

We know that at least one of them (maybe both) has been shot and is bleeding, but we don't know which one or if they will survive.

What are your ideas

I really Iike the Katherine with a syringe one. Much better solution to Victoria leaving than the car accident, and Bobby could have spent the next season looking for her.

It reminds me of Knots Landing season 5 great cliffhanger (Karen being shot and Mack cradling her)That one would have been a little more emotional than another pointless "is JR dead ?" cliffhanger (who could believe in 1988 that Larry Hagman would leave the show ? Zero suspense.)

 

[Jock's Ghost]

Season 5- THE SEARCH is the season finale- ends with the boys hauling an injured Jock, bandaged and limping from the truck. "I'm home, Miss Ellie." Freeze Frame

Season 7- Instead of Bobby being shot- it's Jenna- murdered by Katherine, who goes on the run.

Season 8- an unknown driver runs down Bobby- it's not Katherine. Cut to the Hospital with everyone gathering around- Bobby "dies-" Pamela is slumped down in the hallway crying as everyone has slowly left. She stands up and looks down the hall- Bobby is on a gurney, she watches, but just a few seconds before the door closes- Bobby RISES UP! Pam is shocked- freeze frame. For the rest of the season, everyone thinks she's nuts.

Season 9—Instead of the stupid Shower moment, we see Pamela in the park with Christopher. A suspicious man is spying on her. Pamela gets creeped out but is abducted before she can leave. She's taken to a cabin in the woods. She's placed in a room. A mysterious figure walks in, and peels off his attire to reveal BOBBY EWING, with a sly grin. "The report of my death has been exaggerated," Pamela screams out of relief, and kisses him, but retracts and slaps his face!

Season 10- Someone upstairs used Katherine sticking her with the syringe. Excellent. or Pam is injured in the accident, burned significantly, and emerges as Margret Michaels, the rest of the series is Pam fighting her body imaging and Bobby proving to her he loves her.
