Mike Berry the sole surviving cast member from AYBS has passed away in April at the age of 82.

He played the part of Mr Spooner (the replacement for Mr Lucas) from 1981 until the series conclusion in 1985.

Reading this news today reminded me of just how much I used to love watching AYBS back in the day with all the jokes about Mrs Slocombe and her pussy :)

The early seasons of AYBS are laugh out loud and cleverly constructed. Whenever the characters would congregate in Mr Rumbold's office the conversation would inevitably run off the rails until nothing was achieved. I have to remind myself this series began in 1972 but it perfectly sums up the business I work for and it's now 2025. What's that saying? The more things change, the more they stay the same.
