Funny thing about seeing that. In my job, I have to keep track of pumps and wells and we track them by well number. I love it when it's number 23 because I don't even have to write it down to remember it. I just tell myself, "Remember Ewing 23"

It's never failed me yet.

I enjoy it when they film on location. It gives such a sense of realism to the scenes. Look at the pic that Guzzler posted:

the Ewing to Bennett Connection, driving the Texas Longhorns to the SWC title and a trip to the 1970 Cotton Bowl for the coveted mythical NCAA National Championship!

The restaurant is a bit cramped, which would be realistic for a smaller venue. The vaulted ceilings and the stained glass window, along with the opaque glass to the right are very much 1960s-1970s decor.

The owners try to make it a bit more upscale with the vase and the kerosene lamp.

And here is your one minute mystery: We have a tipoff that this is filmed on location and not on a soundstage. What is that tipoff?

Answer to the one minute mystery:

Look above Guzzler's head. See the exit sign that the restaurant is required to post? You wouldn't post that on a soundstage.
It's these tiny details that add up to make the scene "feel" realistic.

the Ewing Condo, where all sorts of naughty business took place!

The best part is that Ewing Oil owned the condo. So J.R. could write these dirty deeds off as a business expense!

Ewing is a Ewing is a Ewing as Sue Ellen often said with bitterness and regret.

Some scenes have even more meaning when you are doing a re-watch instead of a first time viewing.

Leading up to the contest for Ewing Oil, Cliff said about Bobby: "It's all the same, J.R. or Bobby. A Ewing is a Ewing."

Knowing what will happen in the rest of the season puts even more weight on that phrase.
