Gosh! Venice was quick, 3 scenes in total and in 2 epiosdes, 2 with dialogue
I was very surprised by this too. I was expecting two Venice-centric episodes when in fact, it was just business as usual in Kings Oak, with the two Meg scenes tacked in on either end of the second episodes (plus the closing scene in the previous episode).
My favourite Rondo Veneziano track is San Marco from their first album called Rondo Veneziano. The music they used in the Crossroads Venice episode was called Sinfonia Per Un Addio from their second album La Serenissima.
I believe a young Simon Cowell was involved in getting their music on the show, as he was something like their UK record label rep at the time.

Thought Id post this, for the likes of @Angela Channing who doesnt have the DVDs and this is one of the extras - its one of my favourites and couldnt find it online x

I love this interivew with Russell Harty from the 1970s and she tells him about her love of Live TV and even flashes her pop socks at him. She also looks stunning. The blue dress against the teal backround.
She was such an educated, well informed, entertaining and interesting lady. And she could hold her own with anyone and Russell brought out the best in her on all his interviews with her. LONG LIVE NOLLY
Its only part of it, but i love it!

Thanks for posting this. I've not seen this interview but it's contents are very familiar to me. Maybe I read an article about her that used material from it.

Meg and Jill discussing Sandys death from 1981

Awww - beautiful. This scene really took me aback when I watched it as I'd been under the impression that the series hadn't addressed Roger Tonge's death. I can't imagine these would have been easy scenes to write or play, but it's just enough acknowledgement to satisfy. It's nice that he was still spiritually present on the QE2 as well.

Well, yesterday was Nolly day! Down in London to catch up with friends, but saved Friday to go to Ross on Wye for the 2nd time. Left the hotel at 6am to get a bus to Gloucester (as no trains running/strike action ) and then bus to Ross. (just back at 9.30pm, a long day much (well most really) of it sitting on a bus!)

Tidied up Nollys headstone (good old water and wet ones) there werent any other flowers there, just an empty vase and I left nice yellow flowers in a pot. The artificial ones are now rather faded, so if anyone was to go that would be a nice touch to replace them. Glad I went, still cant get over the fact her headstone doesnt say OBE or similar. There was also an Art exhibition in the church. Its a lovely setting but the churchyard is sadly neglected and overgrown in places.
Thats one thing about Scotland. Councils are responsible and the grass is cut and maintained.
Photos too big to upload, will do once home. Want to see more of the Wye valley so will be back and for longer !!

Oh wow. Twice in the space of a few months. I'm sure Nolly would smile to know that she's still drawing in fans after all this time.

Can't wait to see them (but I suppose I'll have to ;)).

It's a lovely part of the country and I hope you've enjoyed what you saw this time. Did you see any different sights nearby this time?

Sounds like you had a lovely time and was very thoughtfull tending to Nolly's grave.

You could've popped to mine for a cuppa when you got off the bus in Gloucester as I'm very close by!! You would've had to revert back to your Dallas chats though as my knowledge of your beloved Crossroads is very limited.

Noele Gordon (Meg Richardson) filming at Coventry Cathedral in 1972 following Sandy's car accident and finally being able to pray. Its one of my favourite scenes of the whole show on DVD. Very moving, I love the music - Connaught Light Orchestra - Wilfred Burns - Cathedral Ceremony / Cathedral Close 1958
And I like being able to do a spot of Jockey(her mum) watching too.
And Coventry is on my list of places to go in 2024 (Birmingham too)
Couldnt find this online so have uploaded it myself

Some one posted on FB who knows Jane Rossington aka Jill
Basically they were saying

Jane is in late stages of Alzheimer's, she can no longer communicate, and does not seem to recognise friends any more but she does seem to know her family members.

Thats so sad as Jane was always so bubbly and warm in interviews and looked like she would enjoy a good gossip and chat

Meg / Noele at a Crossroads - literally!

Looking at the signs which are all local to Herefordshire/Ross-on-Wye, the sign behind Nolly's head must be for Kings Caple (which is right next to Hoarwithy). How clever of her - or the photographer - to obscure the sign to look as though it could read "Kings Oak".

I wonder if the signpost is still there. If so I'm sure it would be possible to work out where it is and recreate the picture. Based on the directions and the couple of visible distances, my guess would be it was taken somewhere like Old Gore or Hole-in-theWall. Without the other distances, though, it's difficult to be sure.

Another Nolly mystery to solve. ;)

Crossroads replied on Twitter @Mel O'Drama - you are quite the Miss Marple tho ;) (Joan Hickson is the ONLY Marple tho!!)

The directions we had to find this place were 'in Google Maps directions put Kings Caple, Hereford to Brampton Abbotts to Ross-on-Wye. It is the sharp turn before 'Castaways' How Caple.' But that was 10 years ago

And agree, I honestly thought Kings Oak was on that sign until I googled it

Another place to visit!! Birmingham and Coventry on the map for next year on a Nolly pilgrimage!
