As reported several times, in the 1983-1984 season Priscilla Presley could be considered a decent actress.
I don't understand how she became progressively worse starting from the following season, hitting the bottom of her acting at end of the experience in Dallas.

We could consider the 1983-1984 season the first to be purely glamorous, with redundant dialogues more similar to a daytime soap opera.
Cliff begins to be represented as a clown (two dialogues with Pam however let us glimpse his dark side); Bobby as the adult version of the little Christopher, a puppet that makes faces; Katherine absolutely evil, comparable only to Jessica.

Yes, this. It seems a lot of fans absolutely adore season 7, but something has always felt a little off about it for me. It's a good season, don't get me wrong, but this would be the end of the "classic period" for me. It did seem like more of a soap opera, and I can't stand Pedur. It's not a bad story-line on paper, actually a pretty good one(especially once JR finds out) but I just feel like Atkins was not the right actor for the part. I don't like this version of Jenna, and I never warmed to Mark. So.. we have just about a full season of the two of them, and blah. It did feel like more of a soap, but I guess it really always was? Just not almost daytime soap worthy.
It's still a better season than 8.
I think season 10 was somewhat of a return to the classic feel, but it still remained, or was even more so- over the top, too.

In the Dream Season, they said to be going to celebrate their 40th but Alice Hirson complained and they changed it. Pammie was being slightly bitchy in her dream... (look who´s dreaming...)
I was actually jealous of the Italians who can enjoy Dallas on TV again, but now it's almost time for me to enjoy it in Germany too. After Dallas was last broadcast on a daily basis in the morning on German free TV in 2005/2006, it will return on April 22, 2025: TLC plans to air three episodes in a row every Tuesday in prime time, starting with episode 1. It is not known yet whether this will be the HD version, but I don't think so.

TLC is owned by Warner Bros Discovery so you will be getting the HD versions. RTL+ in Germany have been streaming Dallas in HD for two years.

I just wonder how they did it with the German versions in HD. Because every episode is missing several minutes that weren't dubbed into German, as the network at the time wouldn't let them run longer than 43 Minutes. And those cuts sadly were done before dubbing, they don't exist in German language.
For the DVD release of the first 9 or 10 seasons they had to squeeze two versions of every episode on each disc - the German cut one, and the English uncut.
But as usual for Warner, from season 10 on they didn't bother anymore and just left the english Episodes as they were and just filled up the missing German audio with subtitles, plus came up with those stupid, double sided and glued together discs that refused to play at all after a couple of years on the shelf, it's been a really inconsitent mess of a release in Germany.
But: new masters, new workload - they would have to go through that long process of editing now again for the new HD masters for all 350+ episodes to either cut each down to the existing german dubbing or fill every missing scene up with German subtiteles.
Couldn't get myself to throw money at RTL+ so far to check out myself.

The Dallas version with Italian audio, up to now (beginning of the 1984-1985 season) consists almost entirely of original Italian dubbing and about 20 episodes with more recent dubbing and particularly poor in terms of acting and dialogue adaptation.
Some scenes or parts of them that were cut (but they are very rare), now have original audio and Italian subtitles. I imagine they will do the same in Germany.
For years there was a rumor that the dubbing of the seasons after 1985-1986 was lost.
Has the audio been found now? I have not lent my VHS to anyone, even if they asked me to. So, will there be historical dialogues or will they dub the last seasons entirely with the new voices?
We will see and hear in the next few weeks.

Season 1983-1984. I didn't remember that in the last episode Pam left Dallas, without giving news to anyone. With the start of the 1984-1885 season and Bobby's injury, Pam returns to town.
Does this mean Victoria Principal was negotiating her contract for the next three seasons?

Listening again Donna Reed speaking in Italian, I became convinced that in the transition from Barbara Gel Geddes to Reed, content and quality of the dialogues had also changed, now very superficial and specious. Obviously no one can blame Donna for this change.
Great performance by Jeremy Wendell's character, in this season and in the next one at the height of its splendor.

A tragic news.
Today ... Warner TV Italy, after having broadcast episode #191 about Bobby's death (Season 1984-1985), continued with episode #282 (Season 1988-1989) when Pam sees Ciff again and tells him not to look for her anymore as she is about to marry her plastic surgeon.
This episode began with the first scene of Sue Ellen at the police station in the initial English language and without Italian subtitles.
The image quality of the opening credits was terrible, especially the frame about Ken Kercheval.
The Italian audio for the first one was particularly poor.
Frankly, I am frustrated.
I imagine Warner TV Italy did not broadcast the 1985-1986, 1986-1987, 1987-1988 seasons because, contrary to what was stated, they were unable to find the Italian audio after the last complete broadcast on Telemontecarlo in 1994-1995.
I confirm that I have the personal recordings on VHS, although they are deteriorating in image and audio.
Perhaps, a financial investment by Warner TV would be necessary to not let go, but to safeguard this heritage for future generations.
