Whatever they’ve done or haven’t done to it, it’s still Dallas remastered and I am looking forward to it. These things never go perfectly so there are always going to be glitches.

That's your defence. There are always going to be glitches!?!

That is a defence I will not accept.

Warner Bros. are supposed to have professionals in charge of the remastering.

Instead we get Miss Piggy and Kermit the Frog working on the title sequence! :(

There will ALWAYS be glitches. Nearly every Doctor Who collection blu ray set that has been lovingly assembled by fans has had errors. It happens.

They were more focused on the streaming thing I guess + box sets aren't out yet, so maybe they'll fix these errors by then?
Streaming services have option to skip intros, I guess they have that option because people like to use it.
I think most people don't watch every intro when they binge watch.
I guess they were more focused on the actual episodes + made some mistakes intentionally for hardcore fans so that the fans can prove to the world how hardcore they are and boycott the whole thing. And NO, Dallas, isn't WB top priority let's be real. No proper commercial yet? Not a word (offical I mean) during the remastering process to get more people hooked? Nothing offical yet? And you're so annoyed here like they promised you something, anything. WB haven't said a word about remastering Dallas, officially.

Just ask any fan of Star Wars when George Lucas decided to revisit the original trilogy. Now here is a guy you'd think is a master of his craft but still he infuriated many by digitally altering unwarranted scenes.
Exactly! And I don’t think he lost any sleep over our complaints considering how much money they made.

Calm down, calm down. I was just trying to put a positive spin on it, not be the first person to tell you there is no Santa.

I honestly think those little mistakes in the titles don´t really matter, unless VP´s credit reads "Vektoria Principles"...

In the latter seasons there were a lot of mistakes in both opening and closing titles, and again, being really honest, I don´t care at all if they redo all those titles as they seem to have been doing. I´m interested in the episode itself. Also, if you get worried about it, think that here in Spain we will never watch the complete "Dallas" on streaming or Blu-Ray, because, ahem, the dubbing for everything post-JR´s shooting is, ahem, "lost". 95% of it may be found using certain programs that Warner doesn´t approve for sure. And they will never ever re-dub the whole series again because, well, it would cost a lot since it´s 357 episodes. So yeah, let´s celebrate what we (will) have!!

So now you destroy my faith in Father Christmas.

You're a monster, buddy. I have been writing to Santa for years and now you say he doesn't exist! :eyes:

I need to see what they've done to the opening sequence to see how bad the errors are because if they do stand out like a sore thumb it's possible the amateurish way they've been approximated might put new viewers off! This could turn out to be a very expensive disaster for the show. :(

They'll only stand out to people who know what to look for. The majority of viewers won't notice. As a comparison: how many people noticed that once Howard Lakin joined as producer in season 12, the last three credits in the opening titles (Created by David Jacobs/Producer Howard Lakin/Supervising Producer Arthur Bernard Lewis) were redone with a different typeface and larger point size for the first name, smaller point size for the surname (ie the reverse of the cast credits)? That is about the level of subtlety we're talking about.

Yeah well I noticed straight away but then I'm probably not indicative of the demographic that Dallas is aimed at! :)

Could you post the altered frame? This alone would be enough for me, although it would be appropriate to compare with the original one.

Thanks
OK ... top is new version with incorrect "Lorimar-Telepictures", btm is old version for Season 12 opening titles - just noticed they haven't even centred the new version!!

Here are 2 consecutive end credits from the Season 12 closing titles. You can see one of the "Co-Producer" credits uses a more compressed font than the other and in point of fact they are technically 2 different fonts. The differences are subtle but they seem pretty obvious when the 2 credits display one after the other on the closing credits.

I'll leave it to you to decide how noticeable you think it is.
