Jock's "What the hell for?" Was asked as an earnest question. Jock really didn't understand why he would have consulted with Bobby before making a deal.

out of curiosity I went to the beginning of the film and ended up watching the whole thing.. it’s really surprisingly good!
(It’s a good thing Miss Ellie didn’t see it in the day - Amanda and Margaret Hunter were more than enough for her to handle., not to mention how poor JR would have handled seeing his precious daddy shacking up with a “half-breed”!)
