I've often wondered if Jock really would have approved of JR's behaviour if he'd still been alive.
Even before Jock's death and he was away JR stockpiled oil so Clayton would throw Sue Ellen and John Ross off The Southern Cross. Miss Ellie then negotiated with Clayton for him to buy it back.
In a heated argument about keeping JR in control of Ewing Oil Miss Ellie says, "If your Daddy had been here, he never would've put up with that and I'm not going to" then later, "I understand your reasons but I detest your methods".
Would Jock have approved of JR's behaviour, just to get John Ross back on Southfork as JR justified that's why he did it? Was Jock really that ruthless?
Miss Ellie brilliant here, "sit down JR!"
