I would rather rewatch "the reunion" than the second part of season 7. Especially since "the reunion" is much shorter.

One of the best scenes, if not the best, in the entire series.Dynasty at its most lush when they do a Mansion Walkthrough accompanied by a dramatic score.

It's also interesting times for Alexis, who doesn't know yet she's going to be the villain of the piece.
Here, she's just woman. Looking around, touching her hair. But Krystle knows evil and she's going to nip it in the bud.
As if!
talking about prince Michael: it seems it was original planed to pair him with Sammy Jo before they re-tooled S6
That would have been a great plot and given Heather Locklear something she could really sink her teeth into in terms of acting. And that they should've done! In my head, the prince has Sammy Jo forced-aborted when she becomes pregnant, as he realizes Alexis wants to recover the throne.
I just watched the first two episodes of season 7 and this is my quick impression:Welcome to the forum. Most of your observations are spot on and the majority agree with you.
Season 7 is considered to be the series low point rather than the Reunion where people tuned in out of curiosity and it was meant to wrap up the series.
even Joan Collins admits with season 7 that’s when the series started to lose its sparkle.
I’m still gonna watch it when I’m done with the regular seasons. Watching Dynasty is like having a friendship with ups and downs. The ups are precious memories and the downs are sometimes just painful. But you stick with them until the end.- The Reunion was the low point. Evans: "We never had as much trouble as with this script" - Collins: "An awful idea. This really killed the show."
Thank youWelcome @The2ndLostSonOfAlexis ! And yes S6.B is really great! Ben & Caress and the big fight DC vs Colbyco + this epic cliffhanger ...

- they replaced one of my favorite characters Amanda and so far I’m not feeling the new Amanda.
- but it really has good moments: some fights, Miller clothes, Alexis & Krystle first meeting, B&K on the beach + their last dance, Steven is GAY and HAPPY, Miles is back and shirtless...My opinion, and mine only : The Reunion is the low point. So low that I deny its existence. In my head it's non canon, it's an alternate pathetic universe I want to forget.
- YES!!!And that they should've done! In my head, the prince has Sammy Jo forced-aborted when she becomes pregnant, as he realizes Alexis wants to recover the throne.
- I liked the pairing of Alexis & Adam too ... the evil horde living in the holy mansion (including Ben) was great ... -imagine Caress would have stayed their longer ... endless onliners and evil action all the time!- they replaced one of my favorite characters Amanda and so far I’m not feeling the new Amanda.
- They brought back Michael Culhane, WTF!? Out of all the characters they brought him back!? He was interesting in Season 1 with old Fallon but NOW!? 6 seasons later!?
Instead of giving using Dominique more, giving Steven another boyfriend or bringing Sable into his seasons, whatever ...but not the ex-chauffeur which probably most people either forgot or have never seen because they didn’t watched season 1. Just no!
- Claudia finally met her demise. I don’t know whether I’m gonna miss her or not. She definitely changed over the course of the previous 6 seasons. From being a fragile, introvert woman to a real, over the top Carrington.
Maybe she should just have packed her bags and left Denver instead of dying in a lake of fire.
- Alexis buying a newspaper business and becoming a female Rupert Murdoch. I hope his will last only a couple of episodes and not become a side business. She is a too big character for actively running a local newspaper
- at least Adam is now on the side of Alexis just like in Season 3, a pairing I really enjoyed
- I really liked Jeanette in these 2 episode. A tiny character but with a big heart

I totally agree! 6B is really one of the highlights of Dynasty
The producers did not care how she was going as long as she was going. Actually, Claudia was supposed to leave Denver in a limo full of furs but the writers decided, at the last minute, to burn La Mirage down which sealed Claudia's fate as they needed someone to put the fire on.- the producers wanted to go Claudia that badly way because there was trouble behind the scenes ...
Also in a recent video with Pamela Bellwood which was shared on this forum, Pamela says she was supposed to have lots of bitchy - and physical fights - with Heather Locklear in Season 6. But because of her pregnancy, the physical scenes were scrapped. So the producers probably weren't pleased with the rewrites. It would have been fun too to see Claudia and Sammy Jo bitch slapping each other again. Though I'd prefer if they kept Luke and it was he who fought with Sammy Jo, at least verbally. The producers did not care how she was going as long as she was going. But yes there was a lot of trouble behind the scene as Pamela Bellwood was very demanding with her pregnancy : she wanted 2 months off (that's why she missed 5 episodes) and she refused to kiss Gordon Thompson (see the article attached). It was ok with the producers until the ratings went down. Suddenly, they needed someone to blame and because of her demands, she became the perfect target.

Instead of keeping Claudia throughout Season 6 they should have killed her in Moldavia. And I think there a many reasons why this would have been a “win-win” situation for Pamela and the show:
- Pamela Bellwood would have had a peaceful pregnancy without the show in her life. Which is obviously good for her!
- Claudia didn’t brought much to Season 6: She married and divorced Adam and whined 25+ episodes long about the little oil field she inherited.
- Therefore they could have saved Pamela Bellwoods salary aswell as saving the costs for burning down the La Mirage Set
This means there would have been money left to give Catherine Oxenberg her raise and keep her on the show...
... and maybe 1 or 2 different writers to save the script of season 7.
And at least have them more acknowledge her transformation: her newfound 'if-you-can't-beat-'em-then-join-'em' greed, not natural to her, is a symptom of her ultimate mental collapse.Claudia was such a poetic and tragic character in season 1. She was troubled but intelligent, she loved literature and poetry...
Season 6 Claudia is just greedy, unbalanced, annoying character with a fetish for fur coats. Poor Pamela Bellwood had to swallow that awful writing, to finally get fired.
At that time Dynasty wasn't very good at doing "urgency", and she needed the opportunity to call Krystle "the most dangerous Carrington of them all".Killing her in Moldavia would have added some urgency to the finale and the next season's opener.
