I would guess these countries for international broadcasts: Argentina, Australia, Canada, Chile, Egypt, France, Germany, Israel, Italy, Lebanon, New Zealand, Portugal, South Africa, Spain, Turkey, United Kingdom. I might be wrong on some of them though.
In Egypt it was very successful, said Susan Sullivan.
And in Beirut, the capital of Lebanon, Carl Held was received as a star
But I haven't read anything about South America. The soap operas are famous there.
That's why the soap operas didn't work
Some South American in the forum could tell us something

Finally! And, yes, hopefully KNOTS will follow.
I’m really looking forward to this as there’s so much of FC I haven’t seen. We can only hope the same will happen with KL

The first three seasons on Amazon Prime / IMDbTV are not up to par with the DVD release, particularly not with season 3, which has very good picture quality on DVD as it was digitized from the answer print, not from distribution prints.
Also, many of the NTSC prints for the first three seasons in the streaming service are syndication prints (edited with approx. three minutes missing per episode) while the DVDs usually have unedited episodes (with a few exceptions in the region 1 NTSC release).

We have a detailed lists per season which episodes are from syndicated prints in our "DVD & Streaming - Technical Details" section: http://www.falconcrest.org/english/master.php?path=dvd/technical

Seasons 4 through 9 have pretty decent picture quality in the streaming service although the picture was not remastered.

Seasons 4 and 6 through 9 are complete while only the première of season 5 is complete and the remaining season 5 episodes are from edited syndication prints.

I don't understand why DVDs would have the syndicated prints, unless the network broadcast prints are in poor quality. If I'm going to pay money for a TV series on DVD, I want the full episodes not the cut versions, otherwise it feels like a ripoff.

There are only some very few episodes in the U.S. NTSC DVD sets of season 1 (# 015) and season 2 (# 019 and 027) that were from syndication prints.
The basic problem is this: In the U.S., Lorimar created one full master for distribution copies, which was intended for the original CBS airing. For seasons 1 through 5, they also created edited masters for syndication. Note that this concerns the NTSC prints for the North American market only. That was the usual way to do it back then because the cannels expected to get more commercials in during rebroadcasts. So when trying to locate the correct NTSC print now, it's always difficult for the people who do not have that history in mind, particularly for the younger people who work there now. TV shows are much shorter today (approx. 41 minutes), so unless people are aware of the (full) 48-or-49-minute standard from back then, they might not even realize that a 45-minute episode is not the full version, but the edited one. They simply picked the wrong master in these cases.
It's not a specific problem with this show. Many official American DVD sets suffer from the same problem.

This problem does not occur in the DVD sets in Europe, Australia and South America since the TV standard is PAL in these regions, and the PAL masters were always left intact.
The reason is that when Lorimar sold distribution copies outside the U.S., it was at the recipients' discretion if they wanted to edit anything or not, so they always got the full PAL master. That way, the PAL DVD box sets of season 1 and 2 usually never contain a syndicated (shortened) version.

Streaming is another matter. I think for the current offer on Amazon Prime / IMDb TV, they simply picked what they located first.

This development is a step in the right direction, for FALCON CREST viewability. I would like to see the wine saga obtaining a larger slice of the eighties U.S.A. prime time soap opera pie in the 2020s, thus far dominated by DALLAS and DYNASTY. To the success of the streaming:

Emma met Dwayne at a country music dance and they stayed out all night. Lance dated singer Apollonia, at the same dance. Angela is furious with Emma. Dwayne in his lorry brings Angela's youngest home, to the Victorian mansion. The horn of the lorry is blasting. Angela; Peter, Lance and Chao-Li go outside to see what all the commotion is about, (a scene from season 5, 1985 - '86):

Dwayne lifts Emma out of the cab: "That a girl!"

They go to the veranda.

Emma to Angela: "Did you hear Dwayne's air horn? He let me operate it."

Angela: "Where have you been all night?"

Emma: "Mother this is Dwayne Cooley. Dwayne, Angela Channing."

Dwayne shakes Angela's hand: "It's a real pleasure to meet Emma's mother, Mrs. Channing."

Emma: "And this is Lance my nephew and my future stepfather Peter Stavros and our major-domo Chao-Li."

Dwayne shakes Lance's hand, then Peter's hand and salutes Chao-Li: "Hi ya Lance, Pete, Major."

Peter: "How do you do?"

Chao-Li bows to Dwayne.

Emma: "And lets not forget Ursula. That's what Dwayne calls his truck. Isn't she magnificent? She even has a place to sleep, right behind the seat!!"

Angela: "Oh Emma, in a truck."

Emma: "Oh mother don't be old fashioned. It's really all right. Dwayne and I are real good buddies."

Dwayne: "That's a fact Mrs. Channing. One look at your daughter and it was like going down hill, with no brakes."

Angela: "You Emma you go inside. We will talk about this later."

Dwayne to Emma: "You go on ahead. I gotta be rolling."

He lifts Emma up, hugging her and then they kiss: "Bye for now, you sweet thing!"

Emma: "Bye Dwayne and thanks for the ....... ride!"

Dwayne: "You bet ya! Oh it was real nice meeting all you folks. Emma love you'll be hearing from me real soon."

He drives off down the avenue, with the horn sounding.

In the United Kingdom and Channel Islands, IMDb TV is currently available as an App on Fire TV and on the Amazon website [UK link].

You can also watch the IMDb TV channel with the Prime Video app on smart TVs, mobile devices, Fire tablet, Echo screen devices, other major streaming devices or from the web. IMDb TV is only available on devices that support Ad-Supported channels.

IMDb TV is no longer available to stream on IMDb.com or the IMDb app. You can access the IMDb TV app through these devices, and on the Amazon Prime Video app.

Now that everyone in the US has access to all 9 seasons it would be fun to pick an episode for a virtual watch party. I was rewatching season 7 the past few days - there is so much psychological nuance to discuss. I missed being able to discuss the show back in the 80s. Would be great to see if it can happen 35 years later.

I didn't like the ninth at all.
And the end much less
I prefer the sixth to the seventh.
I always thought that problems behind the scenes altered the plots in the seventh.
Jeff Ferlich was a pushy guy and a little stupid.
If he himself says that he was about to fire David Selby at the end of the seventh and even though he didn't, he presumes that he kicked him off the set.
My God if the great George Cukor did not do it when David was not the protagonist when they had a fight on the set of Rich and famous in 1981

IMDbTV has become part of Amazon Prime as we know and now Amazon offers a free version with advertisement called Freevee.

“Customers are increasingly shifting to streaming ad-supported premium content, and we have developed Freevee to deliver them highly sought content with half the commercials of traditional TV,” Freevee director Ashraf Alkarmi said in a statement. “Our new name clearly communicates who we are: An easy-to-navigate streaming service, available to users for free, whenever and wherever they choose to watch some of the greatest Original and licensed content available.”

Good news for viewers in Germany to catch up with Falcon Crest I think:

Following a launch in the UK last September, Freevee will continue its international expansion with a launch in Germany later this year.

This may sound like good news in theory. Before false hope is created, this does not necessarily mean that Freevee will offer the same content for streaming in the various markets in Europe and the UK like IMDb TV / Amazon Prime does in the U.S.

Current streaming offers from Amazon are also quite different in the U.S. and in European countries. It's always a matter of licensing, and products usually are not licensed EU-wide but separately for the use in each country, so we'll see what actually happens.

I've downloaded the IMDb TV app a few different times, but it won't let me watch anything. I'm not sure what the issue is -- and I was really excited that FALCON CREST had been included in their catalog.

There is actually now a Freevee app on most smart TVs and Apple TV.

Works great. No registration needed. Just watch with very few commercials

OK I downloaded the Freevee app, but I still can't watch anything. When I click on a video, it briefly pops up and then it goes away. I've emailed the customer support, but haven't heard anything back yet.
