Falcon Crest composer Mark Snow dies at 78.

He gave Falcon Crest a new signature style of music that complemented the show very well, especially Maggie's theme.

And he was behind the music/themes of several Spelling-Goldberg/CPT series, like T.J. Hooker for ABC and CBS, and Hart to Hart for ABC (that latter being independently made for its first three gos, before having CPT on it for the final two).

Atonality can be fatal.

I'm sorry he's dead. But I wasn't a big fan of his compositions (although his X-FILES theme fit that show).

I liked Maggie's theme, if not his synthesized music for FALCON CREST (apparently requested from all the composers by Jeff Freilich).

He also wrote the lame Season 3 theme for STARSKY & HUTCH, the weakest of all their themes (an unusual series in that they changed theme music every year) and numerous dead-on-arrival scores.

Some of his stuff was okay.
