Dallas, Dynasty and Falcon Crest has appeared on Amazon and Freevee, why Knots Landing is nowhere to be found? Not even on a pay tier.

I've heard it could have something to do with copyrights, but why just KL have this issue?

It's been an awkward myth for years that it had to do with music rights. To the best of my knowledge, there is no truth in it at all. Lorimar's contracts did include the right to release the show on home video, and DVDs or any other media are nothing else, but updated versions of the same sort of distribution, so the alleged music rights issue is not a legal issue at all. Otherwise, WB would not have made an attempt to release the show in the first place.

The simple and unfortunate truth is that seasons 1 and 2 had rather poor sales both in the U.S. as well as in the few territories of their very limited international distribution. "Knots Landing" was quite successful during its original run in the U.S., but it never had the same international success like "Dallas" or "Falcon Crest".
This is what makes the most sense to me. Staying under the radar during the original run helped KL build a loyal following and last 14 seasons, but in the long run, it meant that the show was forgotten about and never did well in reruns.

It was confirmed most recently that no rights issues are an obstacle for "Knots Landing". Someone from the WB Legal Department recently cleared any potential issues. There is still no information available, however, if and wen the show might be available on a streaming service.

reportedly it has been cleared for this soap channel, so the question is not so much if, as a matter of when. Knots finishes its run next Monday. We don't know yet what will be on after that.
I believe "Sisters" is up next on Primetime Soaps by WB TV once "Knots" finishes its run...

For one brief shining moment . ..
Is it even possible to have watched the whole series in this way? Without collapsing from lack of sleep that is.
Hopefully this was only a prelude to a wider release.

So, this channel is only on Plex? Once Knots Landing runs all 14 seasons which took around 2 weeks, they are moving to another show?

Will it get its own channel on Pluto or something where it does all 14 seasons and repeats them?

Will it get to be watched any time on places such as Freevee or AmazonPrime?

Or will seasons/episodes be available to purchase?

We didn't get the flute theme for the first 2 episodes of season 8, that makes me wonder if we are getting the original series finale end theme...

I've been watching it on Freevee all along. I also hope one of the larger streaming services like Pluto will pick it up, if not just to give the channel (and Knots) more exposure.

What was the original series finale end theme?
In Australia where I live, we only got the standard season 14 end theme on the series finale.

Yes it's already been confirmed by the same person who broke the Plex news that it's being expanded to on demand and other options for traditional streaming. Season one is already up for purchase, so I'm sure the other seasons will come shortly after.

Any word on overseas availability?

I've been downloading the Plex-streams since season 4 and watch 2-3 episodes per day.

My knowledge base is quite minimal when it comes to downloading streams and screen recordings but since such a discussion has potential to move into questionable areas regarding legality, I'll just jump in now. Prevention is better than cure, after all.

If I understand correctly, the streamer in this case has their own app, and a website with FAQs which cover how the material can be used on their own app. Beyond that it seems we could get on to dodgy ground, so I'll just request that members are careful not to request or share links to any material not legally available, or ways of accessing that material that aren't legal.

Thanks for the understanding, one and all.

I agree. While it is most likely fine to record the stream of the WBD channel somehow from either Plex of Freevee it will definitely be restricted "for personal use" just like it is/was with any recordings (VHS, DVD or DVR).

As we are all interested in getting a full release of Knots, it is even more important not to cause a decrease in interest by sharing "personal use" copies.
