Manchester City - Along with the Mike Summerbee/Colin Bell statues, Tony Book SHOULD have got the 3rd statue instead of Francis Lee?
I think this because regardless of what Francis Lee was like as a player, he was an awful chairman and did the most damage to the club during 1994-1998 landing the club into the 3rd tier and the "forward with franny" bullshit throughout his time and therefore NEVER deserved a statue at the expense of someone more deserving like Tony Book.
It is also worth pointing out that Tony Book did more for the club in general also, he had a few stints as manager during the 1970s, maybe into the 1980s and final stint around 1993 which was around the time Peter Reid was player-manager after succeeding Howard Kendall.
Finally, I also know for certain that the previous chairman Peter Swales despite his faults would NEVER have got the club into 3rd tier ever in a million years, even Peter Swales had more sense than that. Neither 7 clubs of Manchester United, Liverpool, Everton, Chelsea (London), Arsenal (London), Tottenham Hotspur (London) and West Ham United (London) were ever in the 3rd tier before, ONLY Manchester City have, and how it was only the loyalty from the fans that saved the club from sinking any lower. Joe Royle was a poor manager for Manchester City too and unproven and failed at top-flight level like he did with Oldham Athletic and only had 1 lucky FA Cup win as Everton manager and even Howard Kendall was a better manager for Manchester City, particularly in the 1990-1991 season where he finished above Manchester United and had a better season overall because United lost against the underdog in the 1991 cup final against Sheffield Wednesday too and the 1991 fluke Cup Winners Cup win as the underdog against a superior team Barcelona, and Kendall was a poor manager who failed too ultimately and got Everton into a relegation battle eventually and only just survived at the top-flight level, who he overachieved with in the 1980s and his only good achievements were only THE 1985 Cup Winners Cup win AND 1986 "double runners-up" in the League and cup final against Liverpool.
What does everyone else think?
