Lauren and Michael as far out relations to Maggie hardly mattered indeed. Even more so when the FC9 tptb only ever mentioned that the newbies were 2nd cousins to the all important core character once, in a cloudy throw away comment. Because of the unfamiliar identity Messrs Thorpe and Surnow's season latched to the brand Lauren should instead have referred to Maggie, a few times. Alas to no avail.
Maggie's seemingly second cousins, Lauren and Michael.
Richard and Lauren (supposed to be the new Maggie) are in the Falcon Crest study. They're going to be married soon. Will Angela's scheme with Lauren's brother Michael Sharpe throw a spanner in the works? Now that she is back where she rightfully belongs. Watch this space! Angela is saying a mouthful of prayers, in between discussing the future of the wine business and the future of her grandsons; (Michael and Kevin), (a scene from season 9, 1989-'90):
Lauren: "Right now the boys are in a public school but if we move...."
Angela: "Well, I think the boys should be going to a private school."
Richard: "Lauren and I will decide what is best for the boys."
Lauren: "But we are more than willing to listen to your opinions. As a mother you can never know everything."
Angela: "Yes children are full of surprises. Aren't they?"
She makes eye contact with the wild colonial boy of the U.S.A., Richard.
Richard: "I've got another surprise. I want to move in here with you. I want to bring the boys here. Have them closer to everything. If that's alright with you!"
Angela: "Well of course it's alright with me. Why did you even ask?"
Richard: "Well I didn't know how you'd feel but I'm glad you feel the way you do."
Angela looks down at the floor.
Richard: "Now another thing. I know how much you like to be in charge of everything but I want everyone to be involved. I want everyone to feel needed, everyone to feel important. I want a family working together."
Angela: "Well I think that's wonderful!"
Lance and Pilar are standing on the stairs, eavesdropping and let's say they are none too happy about the discussion, in the study.
