More kitchen less solarium.

Worse, the solarium was placed exactly where the kitchen should have been.

If anything, the solarium set should have been place at the rear of the living room, or just off the dining room (where it is on the real house).

It sure would have been nice to view the kitchen again; after the one-off appearance, which happened in season 2 'Maelstrom'. TPTB should indeed have incorporated one into the set. After all DALLAS and DYNASTY had some memorable scenes in the kitchen. A better late than never time would have been in season 7; after Chao-Li is alive and kicking, back from the hospital and eager to cook for Mrs. Channing.

The only time a FC kitchen featured.

Angela is visiting Emma in prison; after her youngest daughter unwittingly got herself in a sticky wicket, (a scene from season 7, 1987-'88):

Angela: "Now Emma, you've had your little excitement. I'm going to call our attorneys and we'll have you out of here by lunch. I'll see you at home."

Emma: "Not for a while you won't. I'm refusing bail."

Angela: "Emma, even with Chao-Li in the hospital, the food is much better at Falcon Crest than it is here."

I would have been very surprised with all the different executive producers on board that a kitchen wasn't mentioned. It was some omission.

Except for that one scene in S2 @Jock Og mentioned.

The lack of a kitchen in a house like the one at Falcon Crest just seems tone-deaf:

Lance sounds different whenver he's in the kitchen:

Logically, the FC kitchen would have been nestled, cattycornered between the dining room and the study, but several years later, that's where they put the sun room.

Something like this -- with the dining room on the other side of the far wall:

Same here:

And this looks like the Gioberti kitchen had Chase captained a ship and not a plane:

The house is so sparsely furnished in real life.

It was under Safra's ownership only.

It was furnished with plenty of antiques during the Robbins era when "Falcon Crest" was filmed.

Furnishing has improved a lot (as everything else on the property) since Safra lost it due to bankruptcy in 2023. The new owners are taking much better care of it fortunately.

Nice to hear, makes me want to go back even more if the wine tastings still being done inside the mansion.

I vote to put the solarium at the rear of the living room -- with lots of plants and a billiard table. (unlike that production design trash on DYNASTY, where the ugly little solarium didn't even have any windows -- except maybe one tiny french door).

Yes, they are — at least you can choose that option. They are also a lot more open to "Falcon Crest" in contrast to Safra.

They also had the stairway window reconstructed most recently after the devastating storm that broke it. It seems the new owners really would like to make it a very special place and appreciate the history of the property.
