One Michael is not enough

Soaps tend not to use first names more than once, but Dynasty didn't seem to care. First there was Michael Culhane, then Michael Torrance and finally Michael of Moldavia. Amanda had just divorced Prince Michael and then became involved with ex-chauffeur Michael. Adam was addressed as Michael Torrance by Neal McVane in one scene, while Michael Culhane was featured in the next scene.

I've always found it odd that the name Michael was used so frequently on Dynasty. Did others feel the same way or didn't it bother anyone?

DYNASTY used the same uncreative episodic titles more than once -- some, three times. So the names barely affect me.

They named Prince Michael that, however, simply because the actor's birth name was Michael Prince. Seriously, so I guess they thought it was cute.

Let's make it clear: I was joking thar Prince Michael Praed was singing "Life in a Northern Town" with The Dream Academy.

Their lead singer was Nick Laird-Clowes who just kinda looked like our Prince.

Bad writing and the static acting directive -- the usual problems for most of DYNASTY.

The British papers raved over Michael Praed in Robin of Sherwood but thought him drippy and wooden in Dynasty.

Praed once said that in hindsight he would have played Prince Michael different and not so much of a stick up his ass.

A few years ago, actor Michael Praed described running across an old DYNASTY episode on TV and pronouncing that it "looked awful," countering that it was exciting at the time, as it was the top show in the world.
