Happy birthday Steve Kanaly aka Ray! :)I hope you have a wonderful day with your family and friends! :) I love this thread dedicated to Ray&Donna and their wonderful love story. :) Original Dallas rocks!:)
I always thought that Ray and Donna were underrated for their contributions to Dallas. Susan Howard's departure was a major loss.
I wish she had returned at some point. I think that Donna and Sue Ellen were my favorite female characters, honorable mention to
Phyllis and Sly

Ray and Donna were always the underrated stabilizing presence in Dallas.

I think that to some extent, Ray was written as a failed businessman for story purposes, to draw the difference between his
deficits and Donna's strengths.

Ray's struggles during the Ewing Oli battle with Cliff and Jamie were interesting.
On one hand. he didn't care much about Ewing Oil, on the other hand, it represented Jock's legacy, and he didn't want to see
it lost.

I thought that Donna was the strongest woman on Dallas. She wasn't constantly agonizing over things like Sue Ellen and Pam were.
What I loved about Donna was her confidence. She was secure in her own skin. Pam was always caught in the tug of war between the Barnes & Ewings. she was always trying to do her best to be supportive of Bobby & Cliff & her mother. Then she had her own fertility struggles.
I won’t even go into all of Sue Ellen’s issues.
Donna was real. She loved Ray & supported him through everything. He couldn’t take her professional success. I’m glad he got over it in the dream season. I wish he would’ve gotten over it in the next season. That was something that has never sat right with me about Ray. His pairing with Jenna was very forced & hard to believe. The only time I liked him again was when he was defending South Fork in the range wars. Stories that completely omitted Jenna
